Thanks! This helps to give me a little piece of mind. Can't wait to see your pictures and hear how you liked the Briar Fox. Is your CH in the WGP?

See, and that got me all nervous again. My band needs an hour minimum and there is a cocktail hour in the Briar Fox that is ending 30 minutes before my reception.

I wonder what they usually do in situations like this.... time to call Fox Hollow again.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Calculating things aloud... don't mind me....

If they take an hour to set up, that should be on the band's time... so for them to set up BEFORE your cocktail hour they'd have to be there at 6:00, because iirc, your cocktail hour starts at 7:00. Ugh, I have to talk to Fox Hollow, there is no way I am paying an extra hour for the band to just hang around.....

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

it didnt take my band that long
we had a band and DJ

the keyboardist played during ceremony and CH
there was a party in WGP that ended at 6 and our CH ended at 9

the band set everything up from 8-9 after the room was cleaned up

i know that we worry about these things because we've never done this before, but this is their livelyhood - they do it all the time

the time it takes them to set up is NOT on you
dont worry about that

i wanted to ask you how the timing of everything was...i'm having my wedding the same hours as you and my stepmom keeps saying how late it is for dinner. i'm a little worried for my grandparents and the older guests... but i felt like we're pretty young (we'll be 26) and all of our friends are the same age, so staying out until 1am on a Saturday is normal...

do you remember what time dinner was actually served? TIA!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I was only worried because the DEJA said he needed two hours and I don't know how he can go from 2 hours to 1/2 hour. We want the Plasma screens for the Montage, the percussionist, and all the lighting...it seems almost impossible!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

we had our wedding in the Briar fox... and CH in the WGP... our dj set up his speakers right by the doors ... he was pretty quick too!! once the CH was over , everyone was in the other room right away!

your dj has to be done with that time span.. no way should it take 2 hrs... thats crazy!!

I would think they would set up before my CH?

Nope. Just called Fox Hollow, Spoke to Susan, and she said the band will have 30 minutes to set up. Maybe my band will have enough set up so they can play *some music*? I mean, how long does it take everyone to get seated?

I know this is hard to do...but you just have to relax and let it go! There is nothing you can do about it. They are professionals and do this for a living. If they have a 1/2 hour..they will do it in 25 minutes. In an ideal world they'd have 2 hours..but they don't and it'll be fine!! You can't get yourself crazy about stuff like this 9 months in advance!! It will all work itself out!!

I know, at least, I think I know. Instead of worrying about it, I'm trying to think of ways I can help.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

One thing I found out for girls getting married at FH - they do have microphone for your officiant to use.

My officiant wasn't sure so Jen got back to me right away.

Hope this helps someone else.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Does anyone know if the Fox Hollow will use sugared decorations like the ones in the first pic below? I love the way they look. If not, the second pic is leaves made with just icing that still look nice.

I'm really not sure about the first one...it can't hurt to print those pics to take with you for your meeting with Jenn or whomever is there that day..

I'd think you'd be VERY safe with the pics!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I love, love, love the first one. My leaves don't need to be different colors like those -they are like tie-dyed or something, very nice but not necessary - just a few in yellow, orange, red and brown would be nice. And the second is nice too, but not as nice as the first. I will definitely bring the pics! Being that a regular bakery does their cakes, they should have those sugared decs. on hand, and probably even leaves since it will be prime season for those types of cakes.
