I've been on this site for a year and a half now. We've had quite a few 'get to know you threads'. Unfortunatly some of the girls have left the site. But i looks like we have a ton of new girls. I thought it would be nice to have a thread to introduce ourselves.
My name is Colleen, FH is Brian. Ive lived in East Meadow my whole life (yay Nassau), went to EMHS, graduated in 2003 (which makes me 24). I currently work as a Special Education teacher...looking for a new job for September as my district is having cuts. I love pancakes, the word fabulous, going to the gym, and cheerleading (I've was a cheerleader for 12 years and a coach for 8). I love LIW and I've made so many great friends on here, some of which I hang out with on a daily basis. This site has been so wonderful in helping me with wedding planning, random NWR questions, making friends, and just wasting time.

Hi I am Celia and FH is Jerry. Have been addicted to this site since Oct '08. I live in Glendale and FH in Bayside. After we are married we will be living in Bayside. I am a die hard Mets fan and work for the City of NY as a Adm Assis. I think I am the oldest on this thread, so I consider myself the 'Old Lady' here.
On a side note: I dont know if I ever told you girls this but you all are a great souce of inspiration for me. I want to thank you all for all your help. I love you all.

My name is Jen and my FH is Eric. Our 3 year anniversary will be August 14. I have lived in Valley Stream my entire life. I graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 2004 (so I'm 23), and from Hofstra University with my BA in English & American Literature in December 2008. I'll be done with my MA in May 2010, and then I'll go on to obtain my PhD. Then I'll be a college prof! Scary!
My 'trademark' is that I have 13 cats: Oliver, Cow, Lucy, Jules, Paul, Gus, Egypt, Mary, Baby, Jaspur, Charlotte, Lucky, & Roland & 1 dog: Zack. I had another dog, Rex, but he passed away about a year and a half ago. He was 13 years old and was my little baby boy. I miss him a lot.
I love animals, parties, historical sites, literature, and I'm a major foodie. I'm OBSESSED with planning things- anything & everything. I can be really type A, and I can NEVER just sit and do nothing. I'm on the go 24/7.

My name is Christine, FH is Andy or Andrew. I grew up in Commack, parents now live in Kings Park. I went to Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Class of 2002. I went to Stony Brook University, undergrad and grad, BA in Political Science, MBA in Business Management. I work as an accountant/financial analyst for a utility company....people up here hate my job b/c we have the highest electric rates in the country.
FH and I just bought a house in CT. We've been in CT 2 years now, time flies. I'm finally adjusting, its alot to move away from family and friends.
I love going to the movies, shopping, exercising, crafts and planning our wedding.
And of course I love LIW, I really look forward to 2010 and seeing all you girls get married.

My name is Danielle. Fh's name is Jason. I live in East Yaphank with my mother, father, jason, two dogs (jaucques and atticus), and my cat (killie). I have lived here most of my life. I went to CW Post and graduated in May 2008 with a Bachelors in Social Studies Education. I am currently an unemployed teacher waitressing at applebees in Patchogue. I don't plan on teaching anytime soon, I want to go get my Masters first. Jason is finally finished with his obligatory years for the Marine Corps. (he served 4 years active, 4 inactive) and now he's in school and trying to transfer over to Stony Brook. He wants to get a degree in Physics. I have two sisters and two brother. I love to read and listen to music. I also love history (haha go figure being a social studies major). Fall is my favorite time of year. My favorite food is well mostly anything my mother cooks but spaghetti and meatballs are up there.
I think that's it for a short getting to know me oh... p.s. I'm 23 turning 24 on June 27th wow that's coming up fast!!!

We have a beautiful almost 3 year old daughter. (cant wait to have more kids). I work as a caterer right now because i am fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my daughter. My name is Melissa and FH name is Dave. I went to a college in Pa called Bloomsburg for my undergraduate in elementary and early childhood ed and then did my masters in special ed at LIU. I grew up in Holbrook and now live with FH in Ronkonkoma. I teach children with autism which is my lifes passion. I love using LIW for all the ideas that I get and for all the great outpouring of support. I am so looking forward to this being all of 'our' time to get married!

I'm a manager at a womens clothing store and he is a store manager at a men's clothing store
we both work at tanger and my co-workers have dubbed it a 'mallmance'
We love going to the beach in the summer - I practically live there, and we love to cook up some blue claw crabs...

My name is Lorin and my FH is Adolfo (his whole family calls him Duffy) and friends sometimes call him Al, Duff, etc. Im an only child and have always hated it (even when I heard of other siblings fighting like cats and dogs). He's the baby...1 of 8...4 full blood and 3 half siblings so Im happy to join a larger fam for sure! I work as a Property Manager handling the corporate owned homes that are on the market with our agents...I work at the corporate office of this well known RE company in Commack. My FH works for the Coca Cola Co as a truck driver or the truck support person and based out of Maspeth. We currently live in Whitestone but are moving to Bayside in 4 days...I grew up in Fresh Meadow/Bayside area and he grew up in Brooklyn.
We have 2 cats (Seal and Stripe) who we adore. I love them more than anything in this world!!!!!!! and they are my babies...especially one...I cradle him and rock him like a baby ...the other one is a tough guy, lol and is closer with his Dad but I still love him mucho mucho! WE are die hard Yankee fans, btw!! I love food too!!!! LOL

I'm Laura, FH is Mike. I'm going to be 27 in August, FH just turned 29. I grew up in Valley Stream and graduated Central High School in 2000. Went to Boston University and got my bachelor's in psychology and sociology then went to Adelphi and got my master's in forensic psychology. I now work as a therapeutic caseworker for children in foster care. I love to dance (I danced from when I was 3 years old until I graduated college), cook, and just hang around with my friends.
Three interesting facts:
1- About 2 1/2 years ago I lost 46 pounds on weight watchers. I now work for them part time as a leader.
2 - FH and I met when we were set up on a blind date by our mothers! When we get married we will have been together over 10 years!
3 - FH and I have 3 pets: 2 bearded dragons and a cuban iguana

Oh yay this is fun! My name is Elizabeth, FH is Mike. I'm a lawyer, he's a cop (yeah... lol). We've been together 7 years, and our birthdays are on consecutive days -- he's 11/22, I'm 11/23. Same year (but not same hospital). I have lived in long island my whole life, minus my undergrad degree. I went to boston college - class of 2001. went to garden city high school - class of 1997. I got my law degree at st johns, class of 2007. FH and i live in franklin square now. I love my job, I love cats, and I love cleaning more than anything! I also love when I have free time to be a lazy bum, although that doesn't seem to happen anymore. But LIW has been my source of sanity for the past month and a half. I constantly tell people how fabulous it is!!! Thanks ladies

I'm Regina, Reg/Regy for all of my friends. You will never hear any of my friends calling me by my full name cause they know I hate the way it sounds in English . FH is Geremie. I am 28. I moved to USA 5 years ago, this September from Israel, where I moved with my family when I was 9 from former Soviet Union (I know! I am so multinational). So, I speak 3 languages: Russian, Hebrew and of course English. I went to Pace University for my MBA for finance and now work at a hedge fund - love my job! FH is a freelance graphic designer who paints sometimes. I love watching TV, hanging out with FH and reading. Love taking pictures and always have my camera in my bag. Now I enjoy planning my wedding, something that is such a total surprise to me, cause I am such a Tom Boy. Addicted to LIW hard core because don't have that many true friends here, so it's amazing that you guys are here willing to listen to me no matter what You guys are all amazing! Hoping to make friends here in a less virtual way

Hello Girls,
My name is Aiquel, I know weird lol my nick name is Kellz my FH name is Eric. I don't live in LI, but my RH is in LI so this website has been helpful because I really don't know much. I've lived in the city my whole life (Manhattan). I graduated in 2008 with a BA from Cuny Lehman College. I plan to go back to school for my Master in Social Work.
I work as a Caseworker in a Domestic Violence Shelter. My FH is an NYPD Police Officer. We have been together for almost 8yrs. We have two adorable dogs called Mr. Fifi(Boy-a Shih Tzu ) and Madison(girl-a Cavalier King Spaniel). We are also planning on moving to Westchester County, probably Scarsdale or Riverdale etc.. (I Hope)
I am a down to earth person,also very shy, I love walking my dogs, going to the movies, working out, and shopping I am addicted.

Hi, my name is Stacey and my FH name is William. We live in Queens, but picked a Long Island RH to have our wedding. I work for a sign/lighting company and FH works maintenance in a residential bldg in Manhattan. He also works as a bouncer at my favorite bar (which is how we met).
