Hair tip!

I read in some health magazine that if you use Mayo as a conditioner it'll help heal split ends and make you hair grow. Well I've been doing this for a month (along with regular conditioner that I always use) and there is a large differences!!! I figured if anyone is trying to grow their hair out or if they are dying their hair, this helps!! I've dyed my hair a few times and every time my hair was damaged for months, even when done professionally. So I hope this helps anyone out there. It did a lot for me.

Re: Hair tip!

I had to glob it. I just put it at the ends. Don't put it on your roots. It gets really oily fast. If your hair gets too oily do it every other day. I left in for like five mins. I often did this in the shower. I usually like put it in shave, wash myself. Sorry if that was TMI. But it works really. I have VERY thin hair and when I dyed it it started to look horrible and this is working pretty well. I hoped I helped you all out in any little way.

Re: Hair tip!

Interesting...kinda gross, but interesting.

I hate mayo with a passion...The sight of it leaves me sick to my stomach, but my hair is so gross right now (I've been trying to grow it and have been putting off trimming it) so I think I'll try it.

Of course, I'll probably be gagging in the shower, but it's worth it to get rid of the split ends!

Do you then use a regular conditioner after that? Or just the mayo?

Re: Hair tip!

I don't know if fat free matters or not. Sorry if any of you get sick at the thought of touching it. But after every use I did use the conditioner afterwards. Its the same conditioner I used before I tried the mayo thing. Again it really worked wonders for me. My hair had so many friggen split ends and now its a lot stronger.

Re: Hair tip!

I tried it once but the smell of mayo outweighed any benefits.

Re: Hair tip!

Beer is also good for deep cleansing and enhances shine. I think eggs are good for your hair too. I haven't tried mayo yet though!

I know someone who used to use egg whites for shine! I'm all about the shine!

A little off the subject BUT has anyone tried those glazes that are out to use inbetween dye jobs??? LOVE THEM! Still bored though.

I tried the glaze not for in bet. dye jobs - I don't dye....but i tried it for shine and I hated it. Felt it did nothing and i used the brown one so it stained my hands and shower tiles! It's gross...I don't recommend it!

As for the mayo - I will definitely give it a try. Does it really help your hair GROW do you think? I've heard of girls taking pre-natal vitamins to get their hair to grow but then I heard it messes with the birth control - so I didn't try...anyone here do that?
