I'm so glad everyone is posting away and putting reviews. I just can't believe that nothing has been posted about my catering facility. I guess I should take it as no news is good news.
Well, keep the reviews coming !!!

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

2002 Giorgio's- Everything was great from what I can remember. I remember the cocktail hour being incredible (they ugraded alot). I don't remember much about dinner. The room was really nice.

Drawbacks....
Very small waiting area inside before they let you go into the cocktail hour.

Bars were inconvenient to get to for drinks.

Other than that thought it was really a nice wedding.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

Here are mine:

August 1999 Saturday night- Brentwood Country Club
The grounds were lovely and the cockatil hr outside was nice. Food was good as well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the golf course seemed really close and during the coctail hr I thought a ball might hit us

July 200 Saturday afternoon- Port jeff country club:
The view is amazing. The day was amazing. All in all everything was ok I really do not remember anything other than that view.

March 2003 Sunday afternoon- Watermill
It was a rainy day, so we really could see much of the grounds. The couple had their ceremony there and it was a nice set up. There was another wedding going on at the same time so when we were leaving coctail hr to go to the reception area we were running into the other bride and her bridal party.
The room downstairs seemed very dark. The bar off to the side was cool. I loved how the room we were in had it's own bathroom ( less waiting). Food was good too.

That is all for me

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

Lands End, summer 2001: such a pretty setting, the staff was very friendly, the food was very good. I really liked being by the water and it was nice that you could take a break from the dancing, etc and get some fresh air and nice bay breeze. Plus the ferry going by and everyone waving was fun.

Fire Island Pines Community House, September 2003: Hands down the most beautiful setting and the best food. The beach, the sand..so lovely. The caterer was Michele and Co. from Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

FlowerField, summer 2001: Picture perfect. I love the cocktail hour room. I don't remember the food.

Hamlet, Commack: May 2003: The food knocked me out - it was terrific. I wasn't crazy about the room where the ceremony took place - I think there were no windows. But the main room was very pretty and we had a fabulous waiter!

ETA: My cousin is getting married at Tribece Rooftop in May, I'll post a review then.

Also, I went to a Manhattan Penthouse wedding. It was a fun setting, and a cocktail party. We had a ball, the place has great views of the city.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

For ones that I can remember......

TIMBERPOINT COUNTRY CLUB - I was not too crazy about this place. I thought it was a little too small for this particular wedding (about 185) I though the food was okay and the bar became a litlle crowded at times. I thought cocktail hour outside was nice.

HUNTINGTON HARBOR CLUB - I loved this place. I thought the view was beautiful and the food was excellent. The bartenders and waitstaff were extremely attentive. I agree, its just a tad crazy with the parking.

IRISH COFFEE PUB - Probably some of the best tasting food I ever had. Did not like how the bridal suite was right next to the restaurant however. It became a little hectic at times. Service and bartenders were awesome.

JOHN ANTHONYS - I have been to several weddings here and recently a sweet sixteen and I thought everything was fabulous!!!!!! The foof was to die for. At one wedding, the cocktail room was extremely small and not everyone had seats or utensils to eat with.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

THE SWAN CLUB - I thought this place was very nice. The gounds are breathtaking. Again, the cocktail hour room was way too small.

COUNTY GARDENS, THE ESTATE AT EAST WINDS AND THE INN - I have been to weddings at all three and I can honestly say they were the best. From the staff, to the food, to the location. I love everything about the place. (I guess you can say I am partial)

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

bridgewater yacht club- Went to a wedding there last month-March'04. Food was horrible. Cocktail hour food was horrible. Main course food was tasteless. Service was okay, nothing special. When I booked for my wedding, the manager told fh and i that people always remember the food and music at weddings.
The band was not good, but it may not have been the house band( Paramount - would not recommend them).

Crest hOllow country club- small room, service was okay, food was horrible. Granted this was going back five years ago..it may have changed.

Fox hollow- Scotto brothers are the way to go. I went to juju'swedding in February. Food was delicious, service was fantastic the entire room was beautiful. her band was awesome.. for those who want a band go for body heat.

I hope no one gets upset... this is my personal opinion for u all.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

Miller Place Inn ( i think this is what it is called) August 2002- The cocktail hour was good but it was outside and there were not enough tables as there never are so nothing bad about it. The room had a nice flow to it. The food was not so good at dinner. I remember they had a beautiful staircase as you walked in a nice grounds outside but small.

Eastwind- 1999, 2000 and 2002
both times i remember it being beautiful and delicious food. The cocktail hour was amazing. I would have had my wedding there but i wanted a place that everyone i knew had not been too. Something different. I was there 3 times before the age of 22. My parents have been to a number of weddings there.
Beware- My parents just went to a wedding there and the ceremony was outside there... they said no one was paying attention to the ceremony because you couldnt see them or hear them

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

TIMBERPOINT COUNTRY CLUB (June 2002) One of my favorite weddings. The bridal suite was cozy-they always had food up there. The CH was outside-it was a beautiful day. The view was amazing (we saw deer!) & the food was great. The food at the reception was even better! FH is a chef & he raved about it! We both had chicken stuffed with spinach & wrapped in puff pastry...mmmmmm.......so good! The bar tender was great too--I went up to the bar about 10 times & after the first he remembered my drink without my having to ask My only complaint was my table was right next to a big pillar & I had a hard time seeing the dance floor. The waitstaff was very attentive & efficient.

FOX HOLLOW (Sept. 2002) CH was amazing. The food was out of this world & there was so much of everything! I liked my main course (think it was steak) but FH thought it was too bland. I didn't hear anyone else complaining thought We were in the garden room I think (the one with a glass ceiling) & I didn't like the setup of the room. It is a very long rectangle which made it hard to see the dance floor. Also you have to walk across or around the dance floor to get to the bar which was annoying--lots of accidental bumping going on. Don't know if that was the only wedding going on but we never saw another bride all night.

THATCHED COTTAGE (Oct. 2003) Parking was pain the a$$ even with the vallet service-there was a line waiting onto 25A which was a little dangerous but not a huge deal. just FYI anyway-we were greeted by sushi & bubbly Ch food was great--some of it was hidden around a corner though & heard I missed out on some good stuff I liked the way the room was set up-tables all around the dance floor with beautiful views from all the windows. The food was good. I had chicken which was good but whenI tasted FH's salmon it was mad I didn't get it--it was amazing!! (he wouldn't trade ) Everyone was offered seconds which was a nice touch-wished I wasn't so stuffed or I would have asked for the salmon! The wait staff was great-no one was ever without a drink It was a rowdy crowd at this wedding & the staff was great at putting up with us!

Hope this helped some of you!

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

ok...so where haven't dh and i been to a wedding??......we're in that phase now with my friends - and we just got through most of his friends...lol

well, ours was at jericho terrace and i've posted before that the day of was perfect - but getting there with them was H E L L ....i am not sure i would ever really recommend them to anyone who doesn't want a headache, even though it turned out beautiful (in our biased opinion! ) it wasn't worht thte constant poor serivce, staff turnover and annoying stuff they put us through - but i don't want to be negative or anything, so i will move on...

we have also gone to the glen island harbour club in the westchester area and thought it was very nice too - the serivce, food, etc was great and i know my friend who got married there was treated like royalty - we used to compare stories as we planned together!

we had a wedding at floral terrace this past yr too and it was very nice. they were so attentive and we considered it but felt a little claustrophobic (sp?) since dh and i are so tall and the dance floor is elevated with a semi low ceiling....but we're weird!

the watermill is also nice...the food was great and the waiter we had was very attentive...

westbury manor was also nice - but we had the same problem alreayd mentioned- it became a traffic jam during the cocktail hour swtich of rooms!

we didn't love chateau la mer but i also had a cold so to be fair, i won't comment!

villa lombardis is very nice as well. i rememebr how amazing the cocktail hour was - i was in awe since we are both such big fans of food!

don't want to go on too long but figured iw ould add some of my own 2 cents! hope this helps somone!

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

August 2003 Crest Hollow Country Club: everything was great. the grounds are amazing!!!!!!!!! the outdoor cocktail hour is great. The food was good. I had a steak and it was cooked just the way I like it!!!!! We never saw any other bride or bridal party throughout the entire affair. One problem was valet. (I was in bridal party) We heard that most of our guests had to park their own cars. I should add this was my sister's wedding and she was fuming when they told her so she called and complained to the manager. of course nothing could be done but she told them how upset she was and that they should really be careful in who they hire as their staff. I hate those dumb *** little kids they always hire!!!!!!!!!

March2004 Sandcastle: the food was amazing!!!!!! the cocktail hour was really good. they had so much food it was crazy!!!!! (their fried calamari was to die for!!) I wasn't too thrilled with the decor but when the food is that good, I guess it can overlooked. the only complaint I had was that when we arrived (I was in Bridal party) they still had not finished cleaning out our bridal suite and we had to wait and we saw the other bridal party as they were leaving as well as the other one that was coming in. I did not like the maitre'd at all!!!!!!! What an ***. He was very rude and we didn't even see the bridal attendant that much. anyways, everything else was wonderful. the viennesse hour was great.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at?

Stuart Thomas Manor ( my wedding) Feb 2004! Best wedding I have ever been to Seriously though, the food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. Service was amazing, the room looked beautiful, their vendors were all amazing!! I loved my coctail hour room. It was so pretty when everyone walked in there was a beautiful fire going. I am still in amazement when I watch my video and see how great everyone and everything looked. My bridal suite was huge and fully stocked with anything I wanted, food and drinks a-plenty. The bathroom in the suite was huge, for the gal in the big puffy dress. Our BM was awesome. Took care of everything. DH forgot to get cigars and asked the BM where he could have some0one run to get them, not even five minutes later, our BM showed up in front of DH with a full box of cigars. I can't rave enough about this place!! Anyone on a tighter budget looking for a place to have an amazing dream wedding, definiteley check them out!! Seriously, it was top notch service, better than some of the other places I have been to!!

Villa Lombardi - August 2002- Excellent!! The CH was amazing, there was just food everywhere. I ate so much, I could barely eat at dinner, but I had to try everything and it was amazing. I loved their penne ala vodka. The vienesse was excellent. I don't know how I ate everything, but I did and it was yummy!!

Crest Hollow July 2003- Very Nice. CH was very good. Some stuff was cold that shouldn't have been. Dinner, I thought mine was very good, but DH didn't like his, it was too well done. The cake was beautiful but Awful!! The grounds are absoluteley beautiful. I was a BM and while we were taking pics, they kept our glases filled and kept bringing us food, and this was like 2 hours before the coctail hour was even supposed to start, so I thought that was very nice of them to do that. Um, what else, the room was very pretty. Oh, one thing that really bothered me, when we were all in the bridal suite, someone in the bridal suite next to us ( they were attached) kept opening the door to our suite and tey said they couldn't do anything about it, the door didn't lock. I didn't like that considering the bride and groom had stuff in there that could have been taken.

Brentwood Country Club- Septemeber 2003- Very Nice wedding. Ceremony was very nice, it was at dusk so it was so pretty. Coctail hour was very good. There were a lot of knats out there during the coctail, but there really is nothing you can do about them. Dinner was great. I loved the food. Cake was delicious. The only thing I didn'tr like was the DJ. I don't know who it was, i think it was the house DJ, but it was just the one man and he stayed in the DJ room almost all night, never came out to motivate the crowd, and he kept playing a lot of slooow songs, but not even good ones, slow and bad ones.

Riviera- November 2002- Nice wedding. I love the grounds and the inside very very pretty. The coctail hour was inside and it was a bit cramped. The food was good. The entire place was cramped. They had too many people I think for the room. We were right on top of the next table. And some people were like all the way in the back that you couldn't even see them. I think this place was great, but with a smaller wedding. But I loved the balcony over looking the reception room, the groom was nice enough to moon everyone from it. I lso loved the stairs.
