We are having prime rib & salmon at the wedding. For our third choice we have to choose between chicken & Long Island Duck. FFIL really wants the duck. I feel like chicken would appeal to a lot of people & that people might not like duck. What do you guys think? Do people eat duck?

My family loves duck but I think they are in the minority! Everybody eats chicken!

I like to be different too- I was out voted on the snapper on my menu-- but I have to say chicken on this.

I think chicken is the safer bet. If your FH really wants the duck, contact your hall.. a lot of them are willing to accomodate special request meals for the bride&groom at no extra charge.. My FH is getting a meal entirely not on the menu cause he's such a **** picky eater..

We were deciding between duck and chicken also, and wound up choosing chicken. Almost everyone likes chicken, so its a safer choice.

alo tof people do not like duck, its very greasy, most would prefer chicken.

I think you need to think of what your guests are like - many people like duck - but if your guests are those who aren't advernturous or don't eat diverse food you might be better with the chicken. I think if you are offering a fish and a meat dish the duck would be ok - but then think of your crowd - I know I have friends who ONLY eat red meat or chicken - so they would be ok if they had duck - b/c they will eat the beef.
