Hey everyone! So ive been a 'lurker' of LIW for a few months now...i knew my engagement was going to come sometime soon..but it finally happened yesterday!!! and sadly to say this morning the first thing i did was register for this site haha but i swear im real and no drama here! (i read all those posts about the crazy people) but im sooo excited i can start planning now!! I guess the first thing to do is the hall..do u have to have somewhat of a head count before u start looking at places? and a friend of mine told me that i should go to a few places even if i have my heart set on one to find out prices, so i can act like im negotiating..is that true? I have my heart set on CLM but i guess i should find out other prices first right? Thanks so much! and im sooo excited!!!!

You are going to get so addicted to this site. I would tell you yes have some sort of head count etc but I think these girls already answered your questions!!!!

Awwww...what a sweet story! Congrats on your engagement...Isn't this fun? LOL...I LOVE it...I'm so addicted. I didn't know about this website before I was engaged either. ...but now...I can't get enough of it!

I think you should at least have a ball park idea for the # of guest you want to have. I see that you chose 8/8/08 as your date, it's a friday night, right... so you will prolly get lower min. Check our reception hall price quote thread, that way you have an idea.
It's also a good idea to set your budget before you & FH have your heart set on a place it's crazy how everything adds up. We're spending almost double what I thought we would spend (including honeymoon).

hahaha thanks! i know soon ill be asking a zillion questions when i start looking at everyhting which will prob start this week..so i figure i can help in whatever way..besides i was addicted to this site before i was engaged..so im happy to finally be able to join the fun!!
