How big is your center stone? (tacky anonymous poll)

Looking at the 'Let's post rings' thread - it seems like everyone on here has nearly a 2ct center stone! Wow ladies.

I put a poll to keep this semi-anonymous because I know this is a personal question.

*Edited to add 'tacky' to post title * (Notice how tongue-in-cheek I am about all of this ) and to change 'diamond' to 'center stone' for both clarity and to include all of you girls with beautiful non-diamond engagement rings (I can't access the poll in edit mode, apparently)

Clearly, there are alot of women who have rings bigger than 2 carats - I took it as her advising the original poster that her 'ranges' were off. And they were. You people really need to chill.

oh my gad, this is ridiculous. The orginal poster just asked how big your ring was b/c she was curious. if you think it's tacky, don't take part in the conversation.

i don't think it's tacky because it's anonymous, and no one is bragging about their ring size or crying because their ring is too 'small.' Whatever, I would assume (hope?) that anyone getting married is past that immature sort of pettiness!

I'm sorry... but does it really matter? I get annoyed with questions like this. No offense to anyone, its just that some people put way too much emphasis on the size of their diamond.

I honestly see nothing wrong with us discussing ths stuff. However, do you ever wonder what people outside NY say if they check out LI weddings? Sometimes we talk like we spend our days at Tiffany's and like we think nothing of a 50K wedding or a 50K ring! Not always, but it happens!

Mine is just under 3/4 of a carat but it's perfect for me and exactly what I wanted!!

If you didnt give a crap about the ring, you wouldnt be wearing it, so pipe down. lol

Of course love is not measured in karats. I actually got flamed my first week here for telling a girl, who ahem by the way, never posted again, that she shouldnt be planning a wedding if her fiance cant afford a ring. Everyone yelled at me, got on my case for saying that I was rude to tell someone they cant plan a wedding without a ring. When I think back now, I was RIGHT!!! If your fiance cant afford to spend a grand or whatever the hell a ring costs, then maybe you should hold off on the huge wedding, and spending thousands on a wedding.

Bottom line, we all love our rings, big or small. So, get over it already. It was a question, she didnt ask your FH johnson size.

Which by the way, is MUCH more important than how big the ring is.

My center stone is a little over a carat and the side stones are about 3/4.

i have a friend with his a 5 carat ring she flaunts it and makes a huge deal out of it. it looks so dark it could be an onyx instead of a diamond. i think that the size doesnt matter as much as the quality.
