How did you choose your wedding date?

How did you all come about choosing your wedding dates? Is it a memorable date for another reason? Is it your anniversary?

I'm a teacher so it has to be summer and Monday July 4th was not only cheaper but was one of the few dates at the hall of my choice.

It was the closest day to our anniversary that was suitable. Now FH is relieved that he'll only have one date to remember for anniversaries!!!

I knew I wanted a fall wedding, so when we chose the hall we took the only available date. They also had Sat. of Labor Day weekend, but that's still summer to me.

it was the only time we could fit it in... FH will be in classes until August 3rd, and then I'll (hopefully) be starting my teaching job on or around the 16th...

it will be our 5th year dating anniversary. my fiance thought it woul dbe easier to keep one date

We wanted to do a fall wedding and wanted to do a Saturday night. Matching the date of the reception hall w/ my church really is what made us pick the day we did.

The fall. I love it. The pictures are awesome! I love the leaves!
I always wanted May, Sept, or Oct. but the leaves in Oct. are beautiful!! May we have mothers day, my bday, and my parents anniversary all in the same weekend (usually falls that way)...We chose Oct. which is also busy with FIL Bday Ils anniversary, my now married BIL anniversary, and my sister is due ON my anniversary..so Oct. is busy now too
but I don't mind!

Um, I think it chose us.

We got engaged in November 2003, and to afford the hall we wanted, we wanted to have our wedding during what the halls consider 'off-season.' We were torn between November 2004 or March of the following year. The only date available for our hall in November got taken before we could book, and since Easter comes early in 2005, March 19th was the latest date we could get in March. Long story, I know, but now I am really happy about it. We're Irish and Italian -and the wedding is two days after St. Pat's day and on St. Joseph's day (a big Italian holiday, and my fiance's name.) So, we get to celebrate our wedding and both cultures. I'm so happy it worked out that way.

We knew we wanted to get married in July. We originally wanted July 17th because we met on February 17th. But in 2005 it is on a Sunday. So we decided on July 23 because we got engaged on December 23. Our wedding is exactly 19 months from the day we got engaged.

i'm in education, so had to be summer, or on a vacation from school... we wanted JULY 8th, origionally but when we went in Feburary, that was the ONLY date that Fox Hollow was booked for next year! (our luck) so we went with August 5th. (we wanted an 8 in it, so now it's 8/5/05!)

Oh- and before that i wanted MARCH 4, 2005, HOW COOL... it would have been 3/4/05 (3,4,5) ha ha! but no school vacation!

Well we always a Fall wedding - it's my favorite season and we decided on November because everyone we know has a birthday in September or October. We chose the 18th because it's the day after his Mom passed and she couldn't wait for us to get married so we did it then.

I honestly have no idea. It ended up being my DH's 1/2 birthday. Oddly enough my parents got married on my mother's 1/2 bday. Must run in the family.

A combination of wanting an October wedding and the particular hall we selected. I also didn't want to wait until '05. We choose from the dates that were still available.

Yea its the hall, the nite and the price that helped us get our wedding date!

Nothing special about it until the day of and then it will be special forever!

If you don't me asking, where are you getting married? The reception site we really like is expensive and may have to do it in the off season. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons.

We were thinking of September or October. October was slightly less expensive than September. The first date we were able to do that they had available on a Sunday afternoon was October 17 2004. It turns out that 17 is significant for us because we were engaged on May 17 2003.
