Ladies...I am curious to know why did you choose your wedding date? The reason being......
I will start my first wedding date choice was 09/04/04 or 09/05/04-but my dog died around that time and I got so depressed...so, I changed it for 07/31/04.....and coincedental enough...if you play with those #'s. It is my b-day and my year I was born. How ironic...

Because of our HM destination - New Zealand. Their summer is our winter. Hence late January is perfect. Besides this, I now realize that a winter wedding will be great, regardless of why

We (by that I mean 'I' ) originally wanted Sept 19 because I thought the date flowed really well (9/19/97). But it was a Friday and dh didn't want a Friday. I said we'd leave it up to fate and see if the church was even available that day. It wasn't. And it also wasn't available for any late Saturday afternoon until November! So we had a choice of 11/8 or 11/15 and chose the 8th because it was a week sooner! It worked out nice though because we met on Nov 3rd so we got married 2 years and 5 days after we first met.

Well, DH had made it very clear he was not wearing a tuxedo in the summer/hot months, so that took a bunch of months out. And I am a teacher and needed the date to be near a vacation so I wouldn't have to take too much time off. And we started dating in the month of February, so February it was. Then we just picked a date that worked with our schedules!!

Oh November is also perfect for going to the Caribbean! And December is more when they jack up the prices for high season. It stunk a little because Bermuda looked beautiful, but is not the warmest at that time of year.

We picked June because I have ALWAYS wanted a june wedding...flowers are so pretty for outdoor shots, it isn't crazy hot and humid yet....as for the day, we went with what was available...we were deciding between the 3rd and the 10th, and FH just thought the 10th sounded better ha ha, so the 10th it was!

I too love reading how people finalized the date.... I did not even think ......how hot july would be..(when i was planning)........I kind of regret it but..i love the heat. Fh thinks that the fall is perfect weather. O well......if it is really hot on our date..he will just be melting. Plus, I belive according to the farmers calendar...my day will be cool with showers...i hope no showers....
I wished i looked at that famers calendar before...i set the date. Fh...does not belive it.. Lets see what happens?

well.. we need to wait like 3 yrs. so that we're both out of college. and i wanted a september wedding. we were going to go for labor day weekend but i was picking the day out of spite. that's not the way to start a new life together. so we decided on october 13th.. our dating aniversary is august 13th.. and october is his favorite month. so it just works out.

My Fiance and I started dating on March 12, 1997 and it falls on a Saturday next year-so we decided to keep 'our date' It worked out well.

My wedding date (11/27/04) is the saturday after thanksgiving...it also happens to be the exact day we met 6 years ago! I thought that was pretty cool!

well we origionally kicked around labor day weekend - but then fh told me whatever i want - and i just knew that it had to be halloween because of the possibilities of costumes so when halloween wasnt available at my hall we went with the 30th

We started our planning in late December 2003 (almost a year after getting engaged!), and would have loved to have the wedding in April or May 2004 but figured we'd have to wait a while for an open date at a nice place. I wasn't picky about the date...any non-holiday Saturday in the Spring or Fall would do. But then we visited Tribeca Rooftop and loved it. They had March 27th open and offered us a bit of a discount for being semi-last-minute, so we went for it!

Well....we got engaged in September...I always wanted a wedding in September...but FH didn't want to wait a whole year. I did not want to get married in the summer....so that left us with Jan-April. I knew that May and June were prime wedding months and would be more $$$$. We decided on April because it was closer to May and hopefully warmer weather. I wanted 4/24/04 (thought it looked good on paper), but our hall wasn't available for Saturday afternoon...so we took the week before. 4/17/04

I wanted summer, he wanted winter. We decided on late September. It could be nice and warm for me or cool and crisp for him so we'll see who Mother Nature likes better. As for the date the church said pick one and we looked at each other and just said how’s the third week look? That was the simplest thing so far!

I wanted May in 2005.... FH didn't want to wait that long and told me to try for May of 2004 that was last December... I told him he was nuts... so we agreed on September 2004. I didn't want to run into Labor day (a lot of our friends and family go away during that time) and 9-11 just did not feel right, so it was the 18th... and it so happened that Carlyle had the day open. So, there ya go.

We wanted to get married in Mid Oct. around the time we met. But after we saw East Wind and the grounds outside where we could have the ceremony, we decided to push it up a month when the sun sets later, so we could get married outside and have time to take pictures there to.

It was long and complicated...lol
I always wanted a Nov wedding, but since we knew we couldn't get married before 2005 ($$$)
So then I wanted a March wedding, and everyone was like noo, it willbe cold, it could snow ...much like the last two days...lol
So in the end we took my best friend's advice and put a bunch of dates we both liked in a hat, and my mom picked one..
Out came 5/6/2005 (Friday) so after some compromise, we change it to sunday..for a while it was going to be 5/1/2005, but that's my brother's and FH wasn't too happy about that.. so we changed to Mother's day, the following sunday, which is cool, because my parents got married on mother's day, 35 years ago this may!

I always wanted a September wedding. Unfortunately, this Septemeber didn't work for us. We didn't want it on Labor Day weekend since that is when my cousin got married last year. Then came Sept 11 weekend and my dad was against that (had to listen since he is footing most of the bill). The two weekends after that fall within the Jewish High Holy Days so those were out since I am having a Rabbi and a Priest. So, we ended up with the first weekend of Oct.
these are our reasons too. i love september. the weather is always beautiful. but i am hoping to be teaching and i did not think it would be fair to have a new class and not give the studetns my full attention. so we chose august. we chose a sunday b/c of $$$ and the date, 8/8 is his birth month and my birth date (his is 8/1 and i am 1/8).
