How did you decide on what date to get Married?

Original post by Spitzergirl

Ladies...I am curious to know why did you choose your wedding date? The reason being......

I will start my first wedding date choice was 09/04/04 or 09/05/04-but my dog died around that time and I got so depressed...so, I changed it for 07/31/04.....and coincedental enough...if you play with those #'s. It is my b-day and my year I was born. How ironic...

Iknew I wanted it in the warmer months so we picked early June b/c its not too hot, not prom season, or regents (younger brides maid), the only thing I didn't think of was b-days. My fG 2nd Bday is the next day. And I picked the 10th day b/c it's an even # and I'm a little wierd I like even #s better

We always wanted to get married in the fall (not too hot, not too cold, + pretty colors) since we met in the fall and the anniversary of our first date happened to be on a Saturday this year so we went for it.

Luckily the hall we wanted and the church were available.

Well... I always wanted to Christmas/Holiday wedding. We chose December 3rd because we didnt want to get too close to Christmas when everyone is busy with shopping....so the 3rd just seemed right.

We got engaged on July 1, and didn't want more than a year engagement. First choice was April 4th (04/04/04) but that is Palm Sunday and the church won't marry you that day. The fall wasn't enough time to plan. Winter is too cold. Spring is allergy season and we both have allergies. I would have liked April before the allergies start but FH is in a training program that ends in April. That left June. We checked availability and there you go.

I knew I wanted to get married a sunday in July 2005. It just so happened that the second sunday in july 2005 is exactly 5 years to the day we met.

11/06.... so we can take a 2week honemoon and not miss thanksgiving, so we dont have to miss the christmas season(and possible snow)
enough time after i graduate, sept & oct would have been fine but they cost more, so we elimiated it down to this one sat!

I wanted to get married during the summer b/c it's between semesters, and neither of us was big on the idea of a winter wedding. According to the Jewish calender, there are only certain weeks you can get married during the summer. Originally, we wanted 6/20, which is almost exactly 5 years since we started dating, but besides being father's day, it is also the anniversary of my BIL's father's death, so we decided it would be a bad idea. So, we pushed it to 6/27.

My boy wanted a winter wedding b/c he is wearing his military uniform and its stuffy, i wanted a spring wedding, so we agreed to a fall wedding. April 20th is our anniversary and Oct 20th would be our 1/2 year anniversary so we picked Oct 20th 2006 which is our seven and a half year anniversary

I always wanted a September wedding. Unfortunately, this Septemeber didn't work for us. We didn't want it on Labor Day weekend since that is when my cousin got married last year. Then came Sept 11 weekend and my dad was against that (had to listen since he is footing most of the bill). The two weekends after that fall within the Jewish High Holy Days so those were out since I am having a Rabbi and a Priest. So, we ended up with the first weekend of Oct.

Ours was pretty close to this...At first we wanted Sept. but it was a pain for us. We didn't want a holiday, didn't like the 9/11, 25th is moms b-day...That left the 18th but the place i wanted was booked..So first week in Oct it is

We both wanted to get married in October. The manager who owns the hall where the ceremony will be said that October was a beautiful month to get married in.

(Of course, ANY month is a beautiful month to get married in!)

He's really kind. We also like the number 16. So we went from it from there.

We just kinda let circumstances dictate..
(but only for a change!)

We're getting married on my grandmother's birthday. She passed away when I was 14 but we were very close and this is a way to have her with us on our day. FH actually chose the day because he knows how much she meant to me.

With us, summer months (although we LOVE summer) are out because of the heat & lots of clothing, and so are snow possibility months. So that doesnt leave us with much to begin with. Then we wanted September 2005. The prices at the halls we went to were significantly higher in September as compared to other months that were open so we went with April.

I originally wanted to get married in May but we wanted a really unique wedding and thought about how every year on New Years Eve nobody knows what they r doing till the last minute so we figured why not get married that day and have a huge party that evening then noone will have to make any plans and we will get to start the new year off with all of our friends and family.

I never really had a time of year I would prefer to get married & we are on a 'strict' budget........November is a pretty low cost month-we will be married on our 9 YEAR anniversary!

Our first choice was April 24, because we wanted our anniversary to be

4/24/2004

But, it was taken...so we chose May 30 because (mostly) everyone will be off the next day for Memorial Day!

We chose it because we wanted to get married in October and that was the earliest Sunday we could get married there. It's funny it turned out that way because its on the 17th and we were also engaged on a 17th..May 17th.
