How far in advance did you order your wedding dress??

Hi Ladies,
I was just wondering how far in advance most of you ordered your wedding dresses. I just moved to NC but the FH and I are getting married on Long Island and I'll be back this weekend looking around for one and was wondering if it was too early and what most of you did. Thanks for the help!!!

I ordered mine at the end of January / beginning of February for my August wedding (which is Saturday). I didn't pay a rush fee.

About 11 months, had to find it first, that was the hard part, otherwise I would have even done it earlier...

I ordered mine in March and my wedding is 12 months away... so I guess you could say 17 months in advanced! My dress is going to take almost 9 months to be made by the designer, so I am glad I went so far ahead of time! I say it's never too early to start shopping and if you find the dress, then it's one more thing you have done!

I ordered my about 14 months before. My designer takes between 9 and 10 months to come in

i ordered mine sept 10, 2006 for my sept 9, 2007 wedding and it JUST came in 2 weeks ago. kinda freaked me out a bit. i never thought ordering a dress a year in advance might not be enough time.
and i'm in the same boat as you - i ordered it in NY, but i live in AZ, so i can only go home so many times for fittings and stuff. i'd say a year and a half out is a safe bet, especially since you're so far OOT!

I ordered mine with a little less than a year to go...and it came in last Saturday (August 4th)

NOT NEARLY EARLY ENOUGH. I ordered my Dress....a Maggie in July 07 for an October 07 Wedding..... I had no idea.... Go figure....

Well, I am getting married in 4 weeks and I picked up me dress last Sunday. If I remember correctly, I ordered it end of June.
If you need alterations and you happen to have bought it at Davids Bridal, don't have them done there. It takes 5 weeks! A good dry cleaner has usually a very good seamstress and they do it within a week at the most...and charge way less!

lol 11 months. i ordered june 16th for a MAY 24 wedding. Maggie sottero is weird sometimes and i didnt want it to get discontinued
