I must say....

You have a vision in your mind of how you want it to be and his is different. Honestly, whether you or planning it or not remember that although we like to believe otherwise it really is not all about the bride and should be BOTH of your's day. On that day don't you want to walk in to the room and say 'wow WE did this together?' It sounds like your tastes are alittle different which is fine. Instead of thinking which one to choose try thinking about how the two tastes can compliment one another. For instance, you like glitz & glamour and he likes more subdued... a compromise would be to look at a glitzzy reception hall and then have a more tradtional meal that people are used to at a wedding versus fois gras which not everyone even knows what it is. Also, my FH and I changed our mind so many time over what we really wanted. You seem to have a little time yet before you really need to make definite decisions. Try finding out what is really important to the other one and what kind of overall impression you want your affair to make (something fun and loud or something soft and elegant?). Lastly, think about your guest lists and the type of people you are going to invite and what htey would like. Obviously you should have a wedding that you want but, for example, expecting people who like to do things like polka and go alittle crazy to instead waltz to classical music all night is a little unrealistic. YOu want everyone to be happy. Good luck!

For Us

My FI and I just happen to walk into The Hamlet to play golf and I fell in love with the room, but we were not officially engaged yet. He is the one who told me to call and find out more info. We both loved it, but he is the one who said we should book it before their pre-construction pricing ended. He is involved in the MAJOR stuff, and to be honest he usually ends up spending more than I would. He helped me with photo, video, reception site, picking the date, first dance song and the band. But pretty much the rest is my decision. He will give me an opinion on stuff like the invite, but unless he really hates it, it is just fine by him. I registered at Fortunoff and JC Penneys. He only went with me to JC Penneys and helped me pick out our bedroom comforter set. The rest really was not too important to him. But he is in charge of limos and researching our South African Honeymoon. But it works for us.

We are in between

We both went on all the appointments and made all the major decisions together (hall, dj, photo, etc.). For the rest of it he SAYS as long as he doesn't hate something I can pick what I like, BUT he almost always has a DEFINITE opinion of what he wants:) We compromise or find something we both like, but I think it's cute that he tried to kid himself into not being opionated about it. I have to agree 100% about thinking about this day all the time and I wonder what am I going to do after the wedding? hee hee:)

Did I make him sound so bad???

I adore the fact that he gives me his opinion and is as excited as I am even before we actually start the full planning. I can only imagine the excitement between the both of us once the ball starts rolling! He did mention that we should see what is most important to each other and go from there. An idea he came up with all by himself! It is our day and I am positive it will work out in the end and we will be laughing at our behavior in the past. We always seem to laugh at our disagreements after everything is over. So pray for me ladies!! The week before the wedding will be massage, after massage after massage...oh and my nails, toes, and yoga can't forget that! Thanks for the advice.
