How long do you.....

drive to work?

How long is your commute? How many miles? How far is too far? Would you drive for an hour to get to work?

My commute is about 10-15 mins in the morning

and about 30-40 mins in the evening. I hate traffic

Mine is about 40 minutes each way. Luckily I dont have to take any parkways so theres never traffic. If there was i would DIE lol

I'm 20 minutes going to work and 30 on my way home.
Im about 10 miles each way...

It would depend on where the job is, if its paying me for the hour commute and gas, and if I really really want to work there..

With gas prices these days, I wouldn't drive very far for work

Mine was 40 mins or so each way until last July. Now, it's 7 minutes. Every time I complain about gas prices, I think about how much more money I'd be spending had I not switched jobs.

Would I drive an hour to work each way? If the salary made up for the gas prices, and I looooooved the job, yes.

I am bored out of my mind right now, because work is slow. Very slow. If I found something that I thought I would love, I would probably take it, even if it was 1 hr away. I would have to think about it long and hard because I do have it veryyyyy good now.

i dont drive to work i take a bus to the subway and i leave my house at 7:45 to make it in on time at 9

about 30 mins each way but starting next week it will be about 40-45 (after we move )

about 12 miles ... from bellmore --> oceanside

its worth it! i dont use that much gas with my commute and since I have a civic, I get great mileage

I don't drive to work, i take the subway. Door to door it's about a 30-35 minutes...never less but alot of times more...could take me 45 on a bad day.

I work from home so my commute is great! but i do have a friend that drives 40 mins to work and it really is starting to wear on her....I worked in the city from Li and took the train and it drained me every day. Just think about it before making a move!

Right now its about 30 minutes. In the fall, I'll be going into the city so I'm probably looking at a 2 hour commute. So for me, the hour is worth it. I'm in Suffolk county. I really hope I'm somewhere where I can take mass transit.

I take the LIRR and the bus since I dont' drive. I leave Baldwin at 7:54 to get to Bayside by 9:00

I live about 15 minutes from work, so my commute is great! I used to drive about an hour to work and believe me... IT IS NO FUN!! I was so sick of it that I needed to find a new job. With gas prices the way they are, I wouldn't commute for more than 30 min, unless I took public transportation.

i ask bc we are looking at a house but its a far commute for my FH to go to work - he would have to drive to work everyday and it would probably take him about an hour - there could be the possibility of him working from home once a week which would be awesome but it would be a big expense with the gas/mileage on the car...this is in florida though not NY....we could move closer to his job but then we'd be further from my family - he rather us be close to them and so would i - i just dont know how its going to affect him.....it takes him an hour or longer now but thats on the bus....

my commute is about an 1hr on the way in to the city & an hour and a half on the way home...

In:
i take the bus from s.i. thru bk into downtown/ battery park then i jump on the subway..

Out:
i take the subway downtown to the ferry boat to the s.i. railroad..

all i have left to take is a freakn plane each day

FH is about 15 to 20 minutes... me on the other hand I have no idea... I'm a floater pharmacist so I fill in at whatever store needs me. It could be 5 minutes, it could be 45 minutes.

I take public transportation and its relaxing but takes forever.

I live 8 miles from my job (NJ to NYC) and it takes 1 hour!!!!!!!!!!!! 45 minute on the bus and 15 minutes to walk

My commute right now is about 5 minutes a little more if I leave closer to 8 am (There is catholic elementary school on the way to my school and after 8 there are tons of double and triple parked cars on the street).

After the wedding my commute will be about 20 mins.

I, personally, would not be able to handle an hour commute. There are some teachers that have a 45 minute commute and when there is a bad accident or bad weather it takes them so much longer to come in. They come in all frazzled and I just won't be able to come and teach my students after rushing to get to work.

I commute into the city... it's about an hour and 10 minutes on the express train.

I used to drive an hour to work (it was an hour mostly due to traffic)... it sukced the biggest hairiest balls ever. I couldn't do that again, esp. with gas prices the way they are
