WHY??????? That makes absolutely no sense Your FH should either say you are going with him or not go at all

ETA: I even read posts about how rude it is to impose yourself or RSVP with '2' when no guest was invited.
I am in NO way trying to 'impose' myself on the couple. That's not the point. It's just VERY odd IMO with this couple, to not be invited

I understand how you feel but apparently plenty of brides here are doing the same thing. Inviting non married people alone because they don't have the budget to have people/friends bringing a guest.

ok see that i don't agree with. If your engaged... YOU'RE A COUPLE. There's no single about that! In my opinion, that's horribly tacky and rude. There are other ways to cut down the guest list!
ETA: when you're engaged, that doesn't count as 'and guest' in my opinion. It's either you invite the couple or you don't invite them at all.

THAT IS JUST RUDE AND FH SHOULDNT GO!!!!!
I agree 100% FI should not want to celebrate the wedding of a couple that does not even respect his relationship enough to invite HIS FI

Oh I understand. But if you read a lot of posts here. Many brides would be 'tacky and rude' since this is what they are doing and complain about such and such RSVPing with a guest when they were invited alone.
I only invited my guests 'with guest'. When I was invited, I liked having the option to bring someone with me if I wanted to do so.

Re: How would you feel.....
that's funny you posted this b/c something similar happened to my sister-- not quite the same, but similar. it was about a week ago. she got an invite to the wedding of her FSIL's cousin (odd, i know, but anywho)... the invite said Mr. P (not his full first name) Doe and Guest...
They are getting married in TWO months and have been together for years and engaged over a year already!!!!!!! What's even more bizarre is that on the STD (like the poster said) it said his full name and my sister's full name (not and guest).. how strange is that???
so it's almost even worse b/c they know her name and didn't care enough to write it the second time but did the first-- SO STRANGE!!
but at least she was invited-- that's crazy!! i would have FH rsvp no and i don't think they would be getting any gift... b/c that's just so offensive!!!
i'm sorry that happened to you

WOW!! That is seriously rude! I can see not inviting single people with guests if you have limited funds, but that is crazy! Maybe your FH can ask his friend what's up....[/QUOTE
well said, it is extremely rude, i would have him ask his friend.

Re: How would you feel.....
I am seriously appalled at this. How on earth could they not invite you? I'd have to think this was some type of mistake. And if it isn't a mistake, your FH really needs to put his foot down and not go.

I'd be really pissed. And I'd probably forbid FH to go. But that's just me.

I can't help but think this is a mistake. I would definitely call them.

Re: How would you feel.....
so did he call? he should just call to rsvp and say that the 2 of you will be there and if they say its only him, then he should make his decision whether or not hes gonna go

so did he call?
No!! He said he 'would take care of it'.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?! AND I explained to him that I in no way am asking to BE invited, I'm just confused and want some clarification. If I'm not, then I'm not! What can I do?
Oh wait... I can UN-invite them!! (Which I told FH I was doing if I wasn't )

Re: How would you feel.....
Sort of an Update... FH talked to his other good friend and his invite said 'and guest' (he has a serious girl friend)... so FH thinks it's just a mistake.

Re: How would you feel.....
I hope it's a mistake... especially if you know the guy that's getting married. What does your FH think of all this?? He really should call the friend directly to find out the deal... not go by what another friend's invite said. Better safe than sorry. Also, why is your FH being so snippy to you about this... he should be just as pissed that your name wasn't on the invite.

Re: How would you feel.....
that's a tough one. no one has proper invitation etiquette anymore. i was invited to a wedding on the same invite as my parents!!! i was insulted. we're not going to the wedding. i'm not trying to be a mean b!tch but depending how close ur FH is to the couple, don't go!!!
am i mean?

If I were FH I wouldn't go. I wouldn't go if my FH wasn't invited.
