400 - and honestly - its a bit ridiculous. and 200 for an organist - which I am not sure i want to have, bc they are playing for not even 3 minutes -

Re: If I may ask those getting married in a church
I asked what the fee was and te Deacon was like we like to call it a donation. Which will be $400 and then the ceremony music will be $200 oh and I am not using their priest so I will have to pay for that too. (this I dont mind).
Honestly though if its a donation why dont I get to pick the $$ amount. I am just happy that I didnt have to pay the $350 my friend did to go to pre cana. ouch

Re: If I may ask those getting married in a church
I forget what the exact amount is that I have to 'donate' but it seemed about average with what everyone else was saying.
I don't mean to offend anyone who disagrees with me or to make anyone mad, but I really don't think it's that big a deal to pay that. Without the church and this ceremony you wouldn't be getting married (unless you married outside of the church). The marriage ceremony is the most important part of the day, so what if you have to pay a few hundred dollars? Compared to how much you are paying for other things like the RH it really isn't that big of a deal... JMO.

Re: If I may ask those getting married in a church
we didnt have to pay anything b/c the pastor is a close friend of the family and is gifting it to us.
they charge 450 for parishioners and 550 for non-parishioners. the organist and singer for the church are 125.
