Okay, so being that we just got engaged, we are being told to wait, but I don't know how long to wait .. we have no idea when to do things. My mom didn't have a real wedding, nor did his mother. So when do we go for engagment pictures? When do we do engagment announcements? When do I start planning a wedding? Where do I look for good photographer for the photos? Ahhh I don't know where to start! Your help will be greatly appreciated.

FH's family lives upstate and they all came down for the party, and it was pouring that weekend. IMO, distance should be no excuse to miss free food

idont think u need to have one... were not cuz we cant afford it. if u send out announcements people and family will send gift... i got plenty of envelopes in the mail!!

same here.. not having one because we can't afford it. That being said, if my parents or FH's parents were offering one I would not pass it up!
