I'm reading a book that I think will change my life. (VERY LONG!!!)

Let me give a bit of background information.

FH was married before. I will not go into the personal details of his marriage, I will only say that it was a very unhappy marriage and they were in no way right for each other.

I met his ex-wife's best friend this weekend. A little more background. One of his friends and his ex-wife's friend met at FH's first wedding, got together, and are now unbelievably happily married with a 14 month old son.

FH only recently began speaking to the husband, after not speaking to them since before he and his wife split up.

So, as you can imagine, it was very nerve wracking and hard for me to meet his ex's best friend. Well, she is an absolute doll and I am sure that I have made a new friend.

I spent a great deal of the night Saturday listening to a lot of the troubles FH had in his first marriage, which may sound very strange to you girls, but, it didn't bother me, and, it was almost therapeutic to listen to all of these things that went wrong, to not only ensure that they don't happen again, but, it made me feel good that I know I will be a good wife.

So, while I was talking to her, she said to me, 'You are going to have a great marriage, and you are going to be a great wife. There is this book I want you to read, I read it three times a year and I give it to everyone when they get married.' Needless to say, I was intrigued.

On our way home yesterday, we stopped at Barnes and Noble and I bought the book. It's called, 'The Proper Caring and Feeding of Husbands,' by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the book. It is an amazing book. You have to read it with an open mind, but, it basically talks about how you have to keep your hapiness in your control, and, it teaches you how to be a good wife, put your husband first, and get what you want without being a b1tch.

It's working girls!!!

I'm telling you, it's so simple...... just praise them.

Here are two examples:

When we have dinner usually, he'll put his plate in the sink (most of the time).

Last night, he finished eating before me, he got up and put EVERYTHING away.... things in the sink, things back in the fridge... I didn't even have to ask. I thanked him profusely, and told him how much I appreciate that, because then there is less for me to do.

Then, this morning. Now that I am home, he doesn't take the dog in the morning, I usually get up soon after he leaves and I take her.

I heard him leaving, and, then he came back in, and said he had taken her out. I thanked him and told him that I appreciate it because I'm not feeling well this morning and now I don't have to take her.

Try it girls!!!!
