is anyone else in denial over having to change their names?
since being engaged I feel like I refuse to admit I will be changing my name soon.
I want to take FH's name bc I always thought I would take my husbands last name for the sake of our future kids etc. but i just hate his last name and like can't accept the fact that it will be mine soon.
people will jokingly call me by his last name and im like UGh no!
i dont wanna have different names and hypenating would be too long. I have tried to get FH to take my name but he's not into that
I am gonna have to face the facts soon!

lol. FH is a teacher and all the parents spell it morAnta- like they're trying to do him a favor or someting. whatever. i want the same last name as my kids so thats what i will do.

Me too! After years of constantly repeating my last name over the phone only to have it spelled wrong anyway, I am siked to have a short easy to spell name!

His last name ages me about 80 years. I thought about hyphenating, but it sounds to law firmish.

FH's has a nicer ring but I heard people get it wrong so many times...but I want it!

I am in the SAME EXACT situation! If you say my first name with his last name...its comparable to Josie Grossie. It's so emabrassing and I can hyphenate because it would be entirely too long. Only thing I have come up with is that I might start using my middle name too to break up the flow!

I LOVE my last name but FH has a nice last name. sometimes I feel like I'm going to loose my identity when I take his name. Like when I call people they aren't gonig to know who I am
But FH told me it's no dice if I don't take his name HAHA

I am in denial as well. I am not taking it the day we get married, I am easing into the new name. I will take it totally once we have kids. I hate FH's last name as well.... Krulish... ***! My Italian ancestors are rolling in their graves

I can't wait!!!!!!!! My last name is so confusing, impossible to pronounce and harder to spell.
FH has a nice, easy normal last night and its really pretty!
