From personal experience, if the dress is too big they can only alter it so much. I was in my friends wedding 2 years ago and DB ordered me a size 18 and then I lost 45 lbs so the dress was no joke like 8 sizes too big. I took it to a different seamstress and she did the best she could do but it was still held on with safety pins. TRUST me when I say she doesnt want to go through that. Tell her to get her butt in gear!!!

So I email one of my bridemaids reminding her that she needs to get measured for the dress by mid next month.
She writes back saying she is soooo busy and can't she just tell them to order her the biggest size and they can take it in closer to the wedding? The best is she doesn't work so she can't find 10 mins in her day to go get measured??? I am fuming right now!!!

Since she isn't working, does she have an issue with paying for the dress and alterations? I'm just trying to figure out a plausible reason why she's being an a$$ about getting measured.

Wow. Sorry you're going through this!! Tell her as part of her responsibilities as a bridesmaid, she needs to find an hour to go get measured. I'd be fuming!

sounds like she is a bigger girl? i m betting she is embarrassed by her size. when my girls ordered there dress. they were told that can only alter down two sizes. incase they wanted to lose weight.
