I hate to air my dirty laundry online, but this part of our marriage I find the most difficult...I can't even write any more about it, but that's a very good question...

Of course- we wouldn't have it any other way- although I spend way more money than he does!

Yep...everything is 'ours'. I take money from his wallet, he uses my ATM card.

We have been like this from the day we moved in together so it wasnt an adjustment we had to do after we got married.

we each have a separate checking account as well as a joint one, but refer to everything as 'ours' - (except the apartment - that is still mine!!)

Same as Sonicstef. His is mine and whatever is mine is his, we have always been like this since we have moved in together also.

everything is ours. The land in FL has my name on the deed but its ours, the car has his name on the title but its ours (its both our names on the insurance), its all ours. (except the Motorcycle, thats all HIS)

We have moved to an 'ours' type of system. We both use both cars, although I do consider my car 'mine' since it was paid off prior to our engagment. And I would never consider my student loan anything but mine.
We combine our accounts though so you never know whose money is actually paying for something.
All of his sports crap is all HIS! It is not my responsiblity to care for at all

Re: Is yours his and his yours?

we share everything. Lately I get cash more often from him than the ATM (but its all coming from the same place anyway).

I consider my car, mine and his care, his - but thats more a way of identifying them than anything else. We switch if he wants a convertible or when I need 4 wheel drive or a lot of space.

his mess, is all his own, though

Re: Is yours his and his yours?

everything is ours.... we have a joint checking and savings. We only have one car - which I still consider his since he got it before we were engaged and married. But really it is ours since it's our money that pays for it every month!

I spoil him so much.

We don't live together, but as of now we share everything!! I believe that when we get married we'll have a joint account and an individual one.

Re: Is yours his and his yours?

we live together, and even though we aren't married yet we do consider most things 'ours'. If he pays off a lot of bills one week and needs cash I will give him cash, or my ATM card, and vice versa.... its more about who has the money when it needs to be spent. We will combine the accounts once we marry, but for now we have them separate, even though it doesn't really seem to matter who pays for what.

For the most part, because we are trying to save for the wedding, he is paying the big bills from his account, and I am saving and paying downpayments from my account.

At home we have 4 computers. 2 of them HIS and 2 of them MINE. We always use our on computers, except sometimes I will use his laptop if I am snuggling on the couch. (I don't have a laptop)

Re: Is yours his and his yours?

I still consider my car as 'my car' and his car as 'his' since we've had them before 'our relationship' but he can use mine & I can use his if we wanted to.
We both talk to each other before making a big purchase (ex:when we buy season tickets to something)but we could buy some shirts or pants if we wanted to.
My husband knows that I get my hair done every six weeks & my nails done every two. He is fine with that.
I guess it all comes down to knowing your limits and not taking advantage of each other. We have a joint account so we are both paying for everything together.

Re: Is yours his and his yours?

Everything is ours. We do not do the if you buy something then I get something because it is not my nature. I am a saver and he is a spender. I find that I have to reign him in sometimes, but he does not really buy anything substantial without consulting with me and vice versa. I control most of teh finances, but he has full input.

We also pro rate our bills because I make more money. I feel that since I make more an even split is not really fair.

There is no right answer to this question, only what works for your situation.
