Re: Kate- are you ready for low carb?
Kate- if there are 'sugar alcohols' listed under the carb count- deduct that from the carbs exactly how you would the fiber as sugar alcohols do not effect blood sugars....
If not- there are carbs because milk products have natural sugars... and therefore carbs.
I cannot even discuss what went on last night- I drank about nine gazillion drinks... I had an after-work client function to go to last night and it didn't start out good.
First me, boss & co-worker went to Pastis- we shared 2 orders of their sickly amazing french fries... (probably I ate what was equivalent to a McDonald's small). Then we shared 1 bottle of and 1 carafe of a nice, dry Rose wine... but before I drank those 4 or 5 glasses of wine I had a stoli vanilla & diet coke.
Then we went to the event- I had two absolut vanilla & diet coke (way better than stoli- the drink tastes like cotton candy) and an orange kamikaze (I think I had 1 or 2 of those.. which are bad on the carb front)...
THEN we left there and went to Red Light Lounge or whatever it's called on 9th Ave- there I had something that was purple with a gazillion alcohols in it!!!
then I went home- DH picked me up- and I stopped by the falafel place and ate a falafel sandwich on pita.
oh boy- I feel like I got run over by a freight train....
by the way- fruit salad is fine- but I would stick to mostly melons & berries.
why are you sccared about reading the Atkins book?

Dina, just get back on the wagon
It just scares me because I am not familiar with it and I am used to WW where you just eat and count points.

LMAO Dina! Well it sounds like you had fun anyway!
Ok so yesterday was your day off... now whats for breakfast??? (after a night like that I know I would want to have the greasiest, sweetest, saltiest, most carb filled thing I could find)
I am having my watermelon and cantaloupe, for lunch I brought chicken salad, celery & carrot sticks, and a HB egg for snacking.

LOL! Darn beanpoles! How do they do it??
You didn't have much today Michelle, please don't go hungry
Tonight is potluck dinner, DH is a big fan of these but I'd rather make dinner for us every night. Now what do I eat?
I made empanadas last week and froze the leftover filling. I think I'll have that inside a lettuce leaf instead of the discos. and green beans in garlic butter sauce.

Re: Kate- are you ready for low carb?
I had a tuna wrap - not sure what the wrap was made of but it may have been whole wheat. It was tuna with lettuce wrapped inside and tiny bits of tomato. very tiny.

Re: Kate- are you ready for low carb?
Future.. when I started watching the carbs and reading labels I thought that wraps and tortillas would be a good sub for bread. Was I wrong, I picked up a package this past weekend and it had more carbs than the bread I was buying for DH!
I guess its real thin, but its dense.

You can buy low carb wraps at synergydiet.com that are rather tasty!

Re: Kate- are you ready for low carb?
Yum, that salad sounds refreshing for a steamy night! Did you put oil and vinegar on it?
I had my watermelon this morning w/lg. iced coffee. I am still hungry so now I am having a HB egg and a string cheese. I hope that does it, I don't want to start in on lunch!
Lunch will be lobster salad (i forgot my wasa!!!! )

YUM!!!! Lobster salad...
dude you don't understand, we don't have AC yet so all I could even THINK about eating was a salad.
I put olive oil & red wine vinegar w/ fresh pepper, salt and a little adobo!
