Mommy

Original post by rojerono

It is almost 1 year now since my mom passed away. It IS one year since she was diagnosed with cancer.

When she was in the hospital I told her FH and I were finally going to get married and that she needed to stay alive to celebrate it with us. She rolled her eyes and told me she'd be there no matter what anyway.

I just miss her like crazy. I can't tell you how wonderful she was... she was friendly and insightful and hilarious. She was the mom that all of my friends loved and wanted to be around.

I would give almost anything to sit on my deck and chat with her over a cup of coffee ... or a beer.

She just had a way of making life seem easier.

You brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm happy for you that you're keeping her memory alive for you and your family.

oh wow, you just brought tears to my eyes. i can only imagine

i know you want her physical being beside you, but just try to remember she is always with you. in your memories and in your heart. and on your wedding day, she will be your angel looking down. if it rains, they will be her tears of joy for her daughter. and if the sun shines, it will be her rays of light shining down on you.

I understand what you are going through. My mom passed away 7 years ago when I was 16 and there is never a day where I don't wish she was still with me. We too were a very close mother-daughter team. Planning a wedding has made me miss her even more. It's wonderful that you were able to tell your mom you would be getting married and was able to know your FH. I know my mom and yours will be in our thoughts forever and will always be guiding us the way they once did. And, of course a mom would never miss a wedding day.

I am so sad for the sadness you feel. I'm sure the wedding planning makes her absence even more hurtful, It isn't fair, I know.

It sounds like your mom was a wonderful treasure and a good friend to you. I can see that her light shines through you, and your children will benefit from the relationship you had with her, even though it was cut way too short.

Treasure your memories, I am certain she is there with you every step of the way. Group hug from all of us!

I love that Picture! Its so sweet!

I feel your Pain...I lost my mother 8 years ago....and I miss her very much. I just lost my father last year. So planning this Wedding has be so very bittersweet for me. I'm so happy to be getting married...but so sad that they aren't around to see it!
