music you hate and your significant other LOVES

OK, I'm going crazy here. DH is downstairs listening to an album by a band called Sigur Ros. They're from Iceland. Now, no offense to anyone here who likes them, but the music SOUNDS LIKE WHALE SONGS! (OK, no offense to anyone who digs whale songs, either.)

Does anyone else have this problem? I mean, mostly DH and I like the same music, but some of these bands... arrrrrrrgh...

Totally opposite sides of the spectrum. He likes stuff like 'easy rock' and then 'gangsta rap'. I'm more Heavy Metal, classic rock & WLIR.

On Saturday, I was taking a nap and he had this synthetic bell cr*p on!!!! And he was telling me how it was totally seminal when it came out. I was like, yeah, but it's cr*p!!!!!! It sounded like Riverdance on halluncinogens!

I know!! Go look in his car - he's got a retro Wilson Phillips tape and then Biggie Smalls. I'm like 'Confused much??'. He reminds me of the nerd at the beginning of Office Space that is driving to work w/the gangsta rap blaring? Then he sees the window washer guy on the road and turns it down, locks the door and rolls up the window....

OMG!!!!!!

It WAS Tubular Bells...now you all know that I have that CD in my home!!!!

And, no joke, Kraftwerk just performed at the theatre that I work at earlier this year!!!!

OMG...thats my FH..he loves Techno...hes going on 30 yrs old and I can still hear his car turn the corner due to the BASS. It drives me NUTS!!!

I love broadway soundtracks...always have and he can't stand it. He goes 'why do they have to sing what they are saying, can't they just speak it??' and my reply is 'well isn't ALL music really just singing what you want to say??'. It makes me laugh...

He loves rap and hip hop. While there are some songs and artists I can tollerate..... I can't stand it at all!!!!

Give me classic rock, metal, or alternative anyday and I'll be happy.
