My wedding is in 12 days and my hairdresser cancelled on me!

My mother called me this morning to tell me that the person doing my hair and make-up for the wedding can't do it now. She is a friend of my mother's that works in a salon on the upper east side and she was going to take the day off to do my hair and her job isn't letter her take off. (we live on the nassau/suffolk border so there is no going to her to get my hair done, plus it'd be a fortune.)
So now I'm 12 days before my wedding with no one to do my hair. I really just don't need this right now!!!!!

Just relax- it will be okay!!! Just start getting on the phones and calling places and see if anyone can take you in this week for a consultation. There are a bajillion places. Im sure you will find someone. Try calling some of these places:
maximus
red door spa
xsport fitness has a salon and I got my hair cut their and they did a good job
Cactus salon
Hofstra hair express does formal hair- they do them for a bunch of girls I knew for sorority and club formals
There is a hair place in roosevelt field- dunno the name though
And there are so many other places and it isnt peak wedding season yet so you can prolly find someone available. Good luck and keep us posted!!

i can recommend denise (hair) and jen (makeup) from Hairspray salon in neconset. they came to me for my wedding. you can find their contact info in my review or on their LIW vendor page. if they cant do it i am sure someone at the salon can. good luck to you! sorry you have to deal with this last minute stress.

My mom works at a hair salon in PLainview..called Salon Danielle Loren...There are 2 girls there that i would reccommend...Cheryl and Lisa..if you need more info FM me..I can give you my name and stuff and you can tell them you know me or something...let me know..they do make-up too...good luck!

I use Soto in Deer Park. They always do a great job. I HIGHLY recommend Michelle.

i use corrine or andrea at david christopher in valley stream area. FM if you want there info. They are great!!!

This happened to my sister too! Call soon so you can get another trial. The place my sister went to had her pay for the 2nd trial after her original girl cancelled! I know your situation is different but everyone has different techniques so try to plan this in.

I have some 'hits' from people I emailed yesterday, now have price some of them. It's hard going from paying $50 to $200 for just my hair! And that's not with trial!

I dont know any 'wedding' hair stylists but I use Michelle from Self Image right off of Merrick Road in Amityville. It is a beautiful salon that does a ton of weddings. Call them. Also, you can check out Maximus in Merrick and also the one at the Source mall. I am sure you will have no problem finding someone that will do an excellent job! Good luck!!!!

Try Nicole D'angio. I know she's $$, but she's close to you and does great work!

I recommend Maria Candi at Annastasia salon in Garden City or Dina at Parragon in (I think) Greenvale (possible Glen Cove).
