Name something you didn't have as a child,

that you indulge yourself with now. Here's my towel story!!! My family was poor. Mom stretched the towels to the limits, giving new meaning to the word, 'washrag'!!!! So, now I have a linen closet filled with beautiful towels!!! Since my DH, ruins washcloths/towels, with the dirt he gathers at work, I buy all white cloths/towels for him, so I can bleach them!!! Sadly, they still don't come clean!!!! Mary MOB

Ooo Candy!
Mom was/is a health nut. So we had 'Carob' cookies...and sunflower seeds lol....
But i know it was only to keep us healthy...

Candles and air fresheners. My dad is a fire nut and is convinced everything will set the house on fire.

Now I can burn them or even put them on a candle warmer in my apt. (Needless to say I am VERY careful with them)

I am going to have to say junk food. My parent's didn't like junk food in the house as an effort to keep us healthy. I like the fact that I am able to hop in my car and get Doritos and other tasty stuff whenever I feel like it!

My all time favorite (bad)ccandy are Crunchies... they're from Ireland...or you can get them from England... honey combs covred with cadbury chocolate yum

My favorite healthy candy... chocolate covered sunflower seeds!

I am going to have to say junk food. My parent's didn't like junk food in the house as an effort to keep us healthy. I like the fact that I am able to hop in my car and get Doritos and other tasty stuff whenever I feel like it!

Cable TV! No joke, we didn't have cable TV until we moved when I was in 8th grade. Everyone in school made fun of me!

My mom was a nut when it came to papertowels. she INSISTED we cut them in half instead of using a whole sheet of Bounty.

Now, I use the whole sheet!

Caroline, I almost forgot, until I read this!!!!! We did not have a telephone, until my Dad's boss told him to get one, so he could call him about work issues!!!!! Nor did we have a color TV, for a long time, until one day, Dad and I went to nearby Coatesville, Pa. and bought one at a Sears Store!!!!! Mary MOB

i call it bounty and fh is like it's frea king paper towel..bounty is the brand...

i still call it bounty lol

Rules!!!!! Seriously, there were like no rules in my house, but we all knew to do our chores if we wanted something, to come home at a reasonable hour though we didn't have curfew, not to drink or do drugs, etc etc etc.

Oh, and also soda! I still don't drink soda to this day!
