New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....

Original post by SeptWed

Okay i have been on these boards just about a year and before that i was lurking for well over a year before that. I have a question that i bring up only because I notice things written on NWR (and other boards) seem to comment on things the new brides to be post on.

Do you all think there is a cycle of maybe jealousy some of the Newlyweds have towards girls planning there weddings? I got that vibe long ago when it was our turn and the older brides seemed to cause drama. Now i see comments on what other brides-to-be say or are planning and to me it all seems like some type of weird cycle.

Just an observation.

Just the other day.....ON THAT ARE YA GOING OVER THREAD...

someone writes something to the effect...'yea i will go say hi and let them know i exist'

And the problem with that is....???
Have you ever been at a party where you knew the host but not well, but you came with all your good friends but you have to go say hello to the host. Its the right thing to do.

Oh goodness you are SO missing the point! It was the nature in which that was written !!! 'I will let them know I exist' emphasized by the rolling eyes emoticon .. I mean it wasn't SUBTLE in the least, the implication was that going over to the NW board was a realllly difficult thing for this person to do! Had she just come over and said HELLO, I think she would have been welcomed with open arms like 99% of the newylweds typically are!

Honestly despite the rap we've gotten, there is NOTHING 'scary' about us!

YES you are sooo right Felicia

Go back to my party scenario... maybe she didnt want to say hello but being part of the LIW family... it was the 'proper' thing to do.

For the record, I have no idea why I am eyeball high in this situation... I was not that person nor have I discussed with her her reasons for saying that.

lets put the cards on the table...it was said to be RUDE...PLAIN AND SIMPLE...no ifs ands or buts

Honestly, most of the people i really love on thiese boards are NWs...I think some of the BTB are scarier..I won't name any names though

Re: New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....

I have to say I was at the WOTY and I read that post that IMO started the division. The post was mean and nasty and extremelly rude and in poor taste! That was issue 1

Issue number 2 seems to be that a lot of the 05 brides feel they can say whatever they want to people, but when we call them on it, then it's the NW's are mean the NW's are that! (keep in mind this same person then went on to ask a question on the NW board (nicely) and many of the NW's jumped right in to answer it!

Issue number 3 there are certain members of the 05 and 06 boards that are rude they do not understand the following words:

Thank you
Thanks
I appreciate that
It was nice of you to take all that time to find that for me
Any information would be helpful
PLEASE

TIA- does not exclude you from saying thank you again when you get the response you need.

As someone also said, when the NW's disagree with you on something concerning your wedding it's not necesarrily that we think it's tacky, stupid or anything else other than we have BEEN THERE DONE THAT and LEARNED OUR LESSON!

I personally do not answer a lot of questions on certain wedding things for 2 reasons:

1) I have been married for almost a year and half and I feel like my information is outdated

2) I found most of my vendors PRIOR to coming onto LIW and many of my vendors are not well known.

I just think if people took 5 extra seconds and thought before they let the diarrehea that's in their mouths came out, there would be a lot less problems. I know there have been MANY times I have went to post something and said nope can't post that, it will be taken the wrong way or not a good idea. This is a message board: tones, facial expressions and body language can't be seen, so your words are open for interperation!

AI'll tell ya this...when i called someone on something they said on the 05 board...I WAS TOLD by an 05GAL that i shouldn't have jumped the gun...i should have FM'ed the person and found out the intentions...

WELL interesting enough was when the roles were reversed...said 05 girl didn't follow her own advice rather pointed fingers and prepetuated the drama

Well as someone who was involved in something other than this issue... I tried to resolve things through FM so I didnt have to start drama and I was blocked, perhaps that was the same situation?

Yes Diamondgrle, I blocked you. Why??? Because I wasn't getting involved in a back and forth b.s. discussion with you over an issue that didn't even directly involve you. Your backlash was directed at me because you didn't like my opinion on a topic (specifically about Kristi's name being brought up in a divorce discussion). Heck, there's alot of people's opinions I don't care for but I don't use F/M as a means to harass them or 'scold' them for it. It's been a long time since my Mom slapped my hand And the fact that you even realize I blocked you is proof enough that YOU had to have the final word (too bad I wasn't interested though )

Re: New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....

I have to say I always feel so guilty about the 'thank you' thing. I don't remeber ever specifically not saying thak you, but sometimes I get like 20 Fm's and I mean to respond and I don't...does anyone else feel that way? And then people say no one says that you, and I freak out. if there's anyone I didn't say thank you to, i'm sorry! THANK YOU...there was an earlier post about this, and I was mentally going back in my head to see if I thanked people..

Anyway, sometimes people get caught up...they don't mean to not say thanks

The problem is that this , which being that it's posted on a CHAT BOARD, is open for interperation and it is not interperated as nice!

If you honestly knew her... you would know how totally untrue that statement is. But how could you know? We are mostly funny screen names and cute avatars to each other...

I know you weren't the one to say anything, nor am I attacking YOU individually for anything here today..I apologize if you feel that is the case. But you came onto this thread to defend your '05 girls and present another opinion on the subject matter at hand... an opinion in which you plead ignorance about the obvious rifts that have occurred between the NWs and '05 board (in particular).. So I'm sorry if find it a little hard to believe you don't see the problem.. but if those are your feelings and opinions then I respect that.

SO in turn, we NWs are only doing the same .. protecting OURSELVES on this thread by telling our side of it (since ya know, we 'scary' types have to stick together..)

Acutally this is not true. I am a newlywed and I don't post on the NW board that often, I am done with my thank yous, I have my album and video, so been there done that. I have always been (as a BTB and a NW) more of a NWR girl. I know plenty of NW that don't really post over there either.

What I'm finding interesting is the fact that the original poster has yet to respond to this thread

It's starting to sound like a case of someone rolling the snowballs and waiting for someone else to throw them

because instead of letting the NW talk about that issue ...NOOOOOOO
ALl the 05 girls came on the NW board and cause UNNECCESARY DRAMA

THAT IS WHY

Sorry I have to disagree with you on this one, but not all the 05er's jumped to the NW board to cause drama.
I for one wasnt there. If one 05er does something, it seems we all did. I dont even know what happened, but as the above post states, it seemed like I was. How about calling the specific girls out instead of just saying the 05er's. I dont have beef with anyone, and I'd like to keep it that way. Through experience in my life, I've learned to look at a person for who they are and not what group they belong to.
