Im going through the final steps to get my insurance to cover the procedure. I was reading a post from 05 about who had implants and saw a lot of pp on here actually had or wanted a reduction. Curious if anyone has and if was the best or worst thing thay did? And which Dr. did you use. I dont know anyone in my circle of friends and family who have done this and im sooooo nervous.
Thanx in advance

I want to get this done SO bad!!!!!! I have been thinking about it. I joked about it a lot, but then my sisters friend got it done and said it was the best decision she ever made, so now I am really thinking about getting this done. I am so happy to hear all these great stories from you girls!

I've also wanted to get one done. I haven't done it because I worry about breast feeding and stuff.
I'll keep an eye on this thread because I'm still considering it......

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
I was considering doing this...a coworker of mine got it done..when she was pretty young too and she doesn't regret it at all..in fact she's recomended to me. This reminds me of when I just met FH and he thought my boobs were fake. I'm really petite so EVERYone seems to think I have implants....ughh I think my FIL's still think I do. whatever...but yeah I'm sick of it I would sooo like to be a size that would look normal w/my body type.

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
My co-worker's daughter and my cousin's friend along with her two sisters have had the operation performed. All of them were having bad back pains and now they are extremely happy to have had it done. My co-workers daughter did develop a serious infection after her surgery and had a much longer recovery than the other girls did. I am not sure what caused it. She says that she never regretted having it though and it was worth it.

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
I had one done 3 years ago. it was the best decision i have ever made! I went from a DD almost E to a small C. I got it done on Dec 20th and was fine 2 days later. I was sore but it was nothing unbearable. Christmas day I was back to normal. Shopping was so much fun after! I could actually wear a 2 piece. I ended up gaining weight after the surgery so i am back up to a D now but they are lifted and more PERKIE!! the dr said that gaining and losing weight starts in the breast!!! I used Dr. Dubner out of LIJ hospital. His number is 516-669-8855. It was 100% covered! Good luck. any questions contact me!

Re: NWR: Official Breast Reduction Thread? If you had or want...!
OMG ITs sooooo cool that everyone on here is so supportive its so comforting to know that im not the only one with this issue. WEll im so pleased to tell everyone I got my first two letters of support from my OBGYN and Internist. And now I have to submit them to the insurance for review. To hopefully get the OK that there covering it. SO Cross your fingers it all happens. Both my doctors said they would be very supprised if the insurance doesnt cover it. But for anyone that has insurance and doesnt know how to start the process it can be very intimidating. First look verrrrrrrrrry long and hard for a Plastic Suergon. When you do they will all say to get letters of support from you 3 main doctors. Internist, OBGYN, and Chiropractor. Then submit it to the insurane Co. with the pics form the PS and his recomendation. Then cross your finger , pray, and hope to god thay cover it thats the step im @ right praying...... Any ?'s dont hesitate.

This is AMAZING! This is the first I am seeing this post and I am amazed how far you have come so fast! I remember the day I got the news, it was AMAZING! The best thing ever. I can't beleive how fast you did this, I was going to say OK I have a great Dr. then I saw you had your consult, then I was going to say, don't be surprised if you get denied youir first time, then I was like NO WAY!
Congrats to you! THis is going to change your life for the better! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. The best website I found was www.breasthealthonline.com it was as addicting as this place, if it is the same as 5 years ago, you can chat for free, but for $25 for a one time fee, you can view pics of girls who post them, it is good to see the good, bad & ugly, just to make you aware.
I wish you the very best on your journey! Good luck and talk to me at ANY time!

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
I had one - it was the best thing I ever did - even though I proably wont be able to breast feed, but small price to pay to be a normal size - I did it when I was 20 - and I'm 33 now - I cant believe I waited that long...
ETA: My dr. was Joel Studin in Great Neck... it was a while ago, so I'm sure peolpe have more current info for you....

i really wanna get this done so badly but i dont have any insurance. i'm basically an F and i have severe back pains. i dont know what to do because without health insurance, its at least 5k. :( how long is the recovery time?
I was a EEE/F before the surgery - and insurance paid for 80% of it - insurance will almost cover for that size...
I have scars - and scars are better now, but I still dont regret it - I never had any complaints, 1st of all - and it was a small price to pay to be able to wear a dress or a short in a normal size...

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
AWWW thanx everyone. Im nervous and excited all at the same time. If anyone is wanting to do this I say just go for it. If your that big and its of medical necessity and you have decent insurance they will most likely cover it. Im a 38DDD now and im going down to a Lg C small D. And again im soooo nervous but I know its going to be so worth just going into a salon and trying on a dress that I WANT not a dress that I WOULD HAVE TO WEAR...because I have such lg breasts. If anyine has questions please dont hesitate to FM me. And my surgery is scheduled for next Fri March 2nd. I will deff. post after the surgery. Thanx again ladies keep the support coming im gonnna need it.

you are going to be sooo happy! It is absolutely the best thing I ever did. Recovery was tough, i remember, and dealing with the scars took me a while to get used to, but when I say that it was the absolute most life changing thing I have ever done - I was more confident, my body looked better, I lived a healthier lifestyle because I could work out and move around....
I'll never forget this - the night I came back from surgery, I was groggy and sick from the anasthesia... BUT, I still stayed up that night trying on everything I owned to see how they fit. shirts I couldnt ever button, shirts that always looked awful on me because I'd be busting out of them, dresses that fit like tents on me after the surgery.... I looked down and was able to see my feet.... Bra shopping with my friends that year was thrilling... bathing suit shopping... ahh - it was like being reborn!!!
Even now - almost 13 years later, I appreciate my reduction - especially being pregnant and my breasts grew a good size (I was about a C after the surgery - sometimes even a B depending on how much weight I am down) - I am a full D at this point, and the thought of going thru this with my old boobs, and growing even more....

I have huge boobs now, I don't feel that they prohibit my buying of clothes. They are very heavy, no pun intended, and my back will give out one day haha! Good Luck to you next FRIDAY! You are very motivated which is great!

And so fast with the surgery! Woman, you are FLYING through this process!
Def. check out the website I recommended, there are so many things you can to do speed up the healing process, just by things that you eat and drink. I have to say, the most excitng thing for me to think about when I was in the process of the surgery, was thinking about tring on STRAPLESS WEDDING GOWNS! And I just found the dress of my dreams and I know it wouldn't have looked as good if I hadn't had the surgery. I am still so grateful that I did. Best of luck to you and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I will be looking forward to hearing from you after surgery!
Tatum
ETA: Also the site recommends important things to do BEFORE surgery, like drink at LEAST 8 cups of water each day for two weeks before surgery to keep your body HYDRATED, that is VERY imp. for recovery, it also really helps you deal with the anesthesia better and get it out of your body faster.

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
I also got one about 4 years ago with an amazing doctor in Huntington. His name is Dr. Lieberman - he even did liposuction on the area surroundin my breasts to make sure everything was perfect . It was the best decision I have ever made (besides marrying my FH!). Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Re: NWR: Please post...Anyone had a Breast Reduction?
Thanx so much ladies. My doc. said the lipo onder on the sides of the breast wa an additional 1,500 dollars and I dont have that right now with the wedding and all. So im hoping for the best. I personally think he should include that in the price hes charging the ins. co. but whatever maybe hell do it. BUT I know ive quit smoking even though the doc said only 3 days B4. And im deff. drinkin alot of water.
My mom just called in the middle of me typing and said ' Meliss I hired a nurse for the day and the day after ur surgery' I told her shes CRAZY... Im going to moms house the first night. I dont think FH can do it the first night all by himself. Im going home the next day. I think shes crazy. BUT shes gonna do what she wants.
BUT anyway ill deff. post all the results. Thanx again keep the words of wisdom coming it all helps.
