NWR....but very important for pet owners!

Original post by bella1028

I just read an article about a man whose dog passed away and he had no idea what the cause was b/c his dog was young and healthy. After the vet ran tests they found a toxic chemical that is found in antifreeze...long story short it was traced back to swiffer wet jet cleaner which has this chemical in it. It does state on the product that it can be harmful to pets, but I use this all the time and have a puppy....so I thought you girls who do also may benefit from this too.

straight from the aspca - NOT TRUE

this is rumor is so old, its from 4 years ago

It may not be true as of yet, but there are so many awful things in some of these cleaners, it is no laughing matter to raise awareness.

Thanks for the tip Marisa

its not true at all b/c there isnt any chemical comparable to anti freeze in swifter, aspca says so and so does the makers of swifter -im just saying its old news and it was confirmed false a long time ago so no need for anyone to panic...this used to be a chain email that went around.....im obsessed with my dog so i really checked it out when i first heard about it b/c i used and still use swifter cleaner.....i think i keep spelling swifter wrong

Regardless of the anti freeze thing (I know it isn't considered antifreeze from before but I still wouldn't swig it in my drink either..lol). I think some peoples point wasn't so much the swiffer thing as to try & use natural cleaners around small animals & children as much as possible.

My vet & breeders I know suggested to stay away from any of those chemical product around small puppies especially. I have small breed dogs so I always try to be careful with what is around them.
