NYC wedding venues
I know it's a LI forum but maybe some of you are planning NYC weddings or have been to some.I've looked on LI near my parents hours but want to look at NYC also since I live there and its easier for guests.
Has anyone been to The Water Club or The Yale Club?
Does anyone know of any places that are under $150 pp++ and would handle approx. 140 guests?
(Many large venues require 200 people
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: NYC wedding venues
I had my wedding at the Yale Club.Overall, a very good experience. Definitely go see it if you havent already been there.
There are a few girls on here planning/have planned NYC weddings. Do a search and you will find a few posts about different venue options.

Re: NYC wedding venues
I went to the Water Club. I liked it, but it was very nautical, and they view isn't that great. If you are willing to do a Fri. night, Sun. night, or a lunch, you'll find plenty of places under $150++
Here's some that worked with us for that (they would do either a Fri. night or lunch-don't recall which for each one), although we ended up choosing the Harrison House anyway.
American Park at the Battery
200 Fifth
The Seaman's Institute
Manhattan Penthouse
Giando on the Water
Tribeca Rooftop
If you want other ideas too, let me know.
You could also rent the pavilion or boathouse at Prospect Park, or a space called 'Top of the Times' in Times Square, and then hire your own caterer.

Re: NYC wedding venues
Agree with July about the Water Club.Other things about the venues July mentioned:
American Park and 200 Fifth are going out of business from what i understand.
Giandos on the Water is in Queens.
Tribeca Rooftop is over $150pp, even on an off night if you have 140 guests.
The boathouse in Prospect Park can only hold about 80.
Manhattan Penthouse is more than $150 (i think) when you add in the site fee AND would be a tight squeeze with 140 guests.
Ok, i know entirely too much about this. ahhahaha
