October 03 Brides.......

Original post by mv1003

Where are all of you in your planning?

I'm looking high and low for a dj and a videographer. We got engaged over a year ago and I thought I had all this time... I'm now thinking I wasted so much time

OctBride03 where are you in the planning stages?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a good Turkey day.
I didn't get any wedding stuff done at all. I'm off of work today- YIPPEE- so I hope to finally make it to Macy's and look at BM dresses.

I did go to the gym though. Sat. and Sun. FH thinks I'm obsesssed I'll be going today too. If I stop going, it'll take me 2-3 weeks to get in there again

Karen- I sent you a forum mail. Congrats on moving in!!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Good Morning all! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thankgiving. I did nothing this weekend for the wedding, I kinda took a break and concentrated on holiday shopping, although I still have tons to do!!

I woke up this morning and said I was motivated for this health kick I should already be on, but ended up stopping off at Starbucks on my way to work! UH OH! I'm going through a VERY tough transition at work So I thought a little Caramel Macchiatto might help.

mv1003, good luck on your BM's gowns search!!!! Let us know how it goes! What style are you looking for?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

HI Everyone!
I wanted to thank everyone who recommended Cathy's in Lindenhurst for BM dresses! I went with two of my girls on Saturday, and I think we found the dress!! It is by impressions, it will be navy 2 piece, strapless top with some beading on the top, with an a-line skirt, I never thought I would like strapless for myself, but my gown ended up being strapless and I LOVE it. Both girls also looked great in this one BM dress. So I have to see if everyone feels comfortable in it!! They were so nice at that shop though- great recommendation!!

Also went to look at 2 photographers. I was flabbergasted by how expensive they were. Beautiful work, but had no idea they would be quite so costly... will have to continue to research!!

Thanks and have a good day girls!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Glad to hear you enjoyed Cathy's. Aren't the women just fabulous, and no pressure at all??

I also went with the Impressions line of separates (but in Mocha) - the girls are still debating the tops.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Congrats on your wedding accomplishments this weekend! I ended up going with a strapless gown for myself too and NEVER thought I would either. That's why I ALWAYS tell people to try things on that they never would try on, because you never know! What kind of gown did you get?

What photographers have you seen so far?

Fat sausage arms of the world unite!!!

That is my area of concern too!! Anyone found any good at-home exercises to do for the arms??

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I was going to start with some bicep curls. Nice and simple!!! Of course I can lift all the weight in the world, but if I don't cut out the junk food (had fish & chips for lunch - not good) - I'm going to be in sorry shape. You would think spending a small fortune on a dress would motivate me!!!!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

How did everyone's first 'diet' day go?? Mine, not so good. Started out promising - coffee (1% milk) and granola bar for breakfast. From there - completely downhill - fish sandwich and fries for lunch. Dinner - I have no willpower - KFC crispy strips. However, I did manage to throw out all the fries. All in all, not a good way to fit into a wedding dress!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I have absolutely no willpower.. now the diet will have to start when my starbucks Coffee-toffee ice cream is gone from the freezer!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Mine went BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDD! Started off good, had a slim fast shake before I left with a vitamin. Got off the train, headed for my building and went towards a Starbucks, and so I had a croissant and a VENTI caramel macchiato........ oh, then I had a bag of pretzles for snack, had a dunkachino for lunch (it was cold out), then had a cereal bar at about 430. Came home had two bowls of pasta and then devoured myself on a pint of ben & jerry's new york super fudge chunk!! (although I didn't eat all of it!) So tomorrow is another day!! Gotta get back on my Pilates routine!!!

So there you go! Nice successful diet day!

PS - I'm using the VERY depressing transition at work as an excuse...

Edited to say: Karen you crack me up!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Ben & Jerry's chunky monkey is my ultimate downfall!!! If that stuff is in the house, I will eat the entire thing in one sitting! Thankfully FI is not a big junk-food, snack person - so there isn't too much of it in the house.

Good Morning All!!! Just thought I'd say I got weak and got Starbucks, AGAIN! I can't help it! I need to find a new way to walk, but in the City, there's one on every corner!!!

Anyway, mv1003, you out there??? Did you go look for BM's gowns yet??? I'm not sure if you said you were going to look this weekend. Keep us posted!

Anyway, I screwed up this morning, will do better throughout the day!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Hi ladies me again! I just made a make-up trial appointment with Jaqueline Nicole for next Thursday. Woohoo! I'm excited, but a little nervous!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

You are all cracking me up!!! That was me a few months ago!! Starbucks was the end of me! Let's not talk about my addiction to an ICED Caramel Macchiato (spelling?) I had to give up caffiene completely, even coke. This way, I wouldn't drink it at all. So far, I did really good! I gave it up cold turkey, and treated myself on my 1 month anniversary. It was delicious, but I found that I could do without it.

I started the diet girls! Because sausage arms- no can do. I really want some toned arms for my dress. I bought a bunch of the weight watchers dinners and have them for lunch & dinner. Went to the gym all weekend, and going tonight. I beat up on myself so bad that I know if I don't motivate, I'll be so depressed- so, I've got to do it! It's hard- believe me!!! I have pop-corn for snacks now and rice cakes- not exciting at all.

I was looking at a Jim Hjelm dress for the BM's- got a quote from netbride.com... not too bad. I'm trying to keep the costs down though b/c they all have to travel etc... so - I'm going to hit the pavement searching! I'll look for a picture of what I'm looking for (separates) and post it if I find it.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Well it sounds like you are motivated mv1003. Now I just have to get my butt in gear! I think I can do it! I'd like to lose about 20-25 lbs by the wedding... so we'll see................ It's probably too much, but I don't care!

I actually said I was going to cut down on caffeine but of course started the day with coffee. BUT I did get a sprite today instead of coke so I think that's a start. I heard caffeine has a lot to do with losing weight, I guess that's true, right?

mv1003, glad to hear the beginning of your BM gown search is going well! Good luck!

I wish I could cut back on the caffiene!!!! I've already had 3 cups of coffee today! Not good, not good!
