October 03 Brides.......

Original post by mv1003

Where are all of you in your planning?

I'm looking high and low for a dj and a videographer. We got engaged over a year ago and I thought I had all this time... I'm now thinking I wasted so much time

OctBride03 where are you in the planning stages?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

the caffiene really helps- I mean, the cutting back of it that is.

I too, want to try to loose 20-25lbs for the wedding.
That's a lot- just think, it took me how many years to put it on, it's NOT going to come off in a day... that's what I keep telling myself anyway.
(A person who never had any patience).

Maybe we can all start it together?
Like- give up one thing- if you had 3 cups of coffee today, only have 1 and 1/2 tomorrow? how does that sound?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Let's definitely start tomorrow!!!! I'll wean myself slowly off the coffee - maybe get a 12oz at 7-11 instead of the 16oz

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Count me in!!! Once again, I didn't do very well today. Maybe we should keep a journal and share it with each other! That may help. Like what we ate, what we did to work out, and whatever else we'd like to share! When I was on WW, the thing that helped was writing EVERYTHING down!!!

This sounds like a good idea!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Hi Ladies, can I join the 'October Brides Diet support group'? I'm suppose to be on WW but like everyone else I have NO WILLPOWER!!! After almost crying to my leader, she told me to take it one week at a time. She said to make small goals like 'I will exercise at least 15min for at least 3 days' and not to concentrate on fitting in my dress. I will get my butt off this chair and go on my treadmill in the morning!!! Let's see if i actually do it. Have you guys had the caramel apple cider at starbucks? I LOVE that drink! WILLPOWER, NANCY, WILLPOWER!!!

Octbride03-Tell me how your trail goes with JN. I have a trial with her Jan 8th. Good Luck!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

OMG!!! The main staple of my winter wardrobe - a long black skirt is too friggin' tight on me This is so not good!!!!!! This morning I picked up a 16oz coffee (th 12oz is soo small looking) and a granola bar.

Completely unrelated - it wasn't even on my radar to do a make-up trial yet You guys all scheduled them already?? I was going to go with the make-up woman at my hair salon, but I keep hearing such raves about JN, maybe I'll check her out, too!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Well I avoided Starbucks!!! It's the beginning. I bought a V-8 instead, not at all as yummy!!! I never tried the Caramel Cider, although they gave me their Gingerbread Cider thing on accident and that was NOT good at all! I had to return it!

Karen, I know how you feel, I wore one of my favorite black pairs of pants yesterday, which by the way fit me last week, and ouch!! they were hurting my stomach they were so tight! I think that's what pushed me over the edge!! So I pigged out one last time at Fridays and that's it!!! I start today, NO JOKE!!!

As for the make-up trial. The only reason why I am doing it so early is because a lot of the girls on this board have booked her like a year in advance. If she is really as good as everyone say she is, then I wanted to make sure I get her! I do think it's still too early and actually JN told me it's rather early too, but I don't want to take any chances. If I were you though I'd go for a trial just in case!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I think this is a wonderful idea! I never 'officially' did WW, but I follow it and writing it down helps. It also helps to know that you can do it!!!! I love the suggestion of setting small goals. I gave up coke a month and a week ago. I've lost 7lbs just from giving up coke. How incredible is that. But, I'm not as will-powered as I sound. I couldn't give up coke & caffiene all at once- I knew I would cave. So, I drank a small iced coffee for a week while I didn't have any coke. The second week, I gave up the iced coffee simply b/c it's too cold! To be honest, I don't miss it!

Watch out for the granola bars. I read an aritcle saying that they're not that good for you (don't know how true) I eat them, but only 1 in the morning sometimes.

The make-up trial, sorry Octbride, I never commented yesterday! I'm totally excited for you... let us know how it goes. I think I'm going to do my own make-up, but I'd love to have a trial just to see what they would do???? What colors etc they would use. Next year, I want to start my own co. to do this myself (just a side note- I think if I keep saying it, I'll actually do it)

so, today is a new day for us Oct. dieters... how's it going? I brought in a WW frozen meal for lunch- again. I'll go and get some fruit as a snack later too.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Well I am motivated to give up caffeine. I've heard it plenty of times that it definately helps, so I think that's going to be my first step. Now, let me ask you though, Xenadrine - that has caffeine do you think those are bad for a caffeine free diet? Even though it's supposed to speed up your metabolism?? Dumb question, but I'm just wondering, I need all the help I can get.

Mv1003, I forgot you are into the make up stuff! I'm totally spastic when doing make-up, eyeshadow and lip gloss, that's about as far as I can go! JN does brides trials for free. If you wanted to get an idea of color!

All in all my diet is going so far so good, although I am HUNGRY!!! I'm missing my croissant, but I'm going to try to cut down on carbs too! UGH! This is going to be tough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Just to get back on the wedding subject. Are all of you ladies registered? (I hope we didn't go through this already) and if so are you done? And how many places have you registered at??? FH and I started off good but now I go to Fortunoff and want to scream!!! I thought maybe another store to add might make it fun again!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Oh, a free trial, who could ask for more? Do you have her #? Prease... thanks!

I've heard bad things about Xenadrine - didn't a few people die from that? You don't need anything else, you've got us!!!! We're all here with the same goal! We can do it!!!!!!! Carbs are a big cut out NO NO for me. I really have to watch that, or I'm in big trouble. I rarely have a lot of carbs at any given time. These thighs are popping the stiching out of my pants!!!! Not so nice.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I don't have her #, but the website is prettyme.com.

As for the Xenadrine - they have it now without the ephedrine stuff. But I don't know, I guess I should try natural will power first

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Excellent! Thanks!

I was thinking of Trimspa too, but am doing ok on my own. The day is long- very long... so I'm trying to sink myself into work to make me not think of food! (or just stay on the board- hee hee) How much weight are you hoping to loose?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I'm going to try the same thing. Although my boss is not in, so I have NOTHING to do... I'm going to figure out my vacations for next year! haha!

My goal is 20 lbs, but 25 would make me very happy!!!! Everyone tells me 20 is too much, but I don't care. I want to look SKINNY! That's it!!!
mv1003 Posted:

Re: October 03 Brides.......

That's all our goals!!! I was a size 10-pushing 12.... I'm back down to a 10 and would love nothing more to be a size 8 by March/April.

We should all try to loose say.... 2 pounds in December? Does that sound like a reasonable goal? (Even with the holidays) yikes.....

Re: October 03 Brides.......

WATER!!!!!!!!!! I keep forgetting to say- I drink lotts and lotts of water! It really breaks everything up!

OctBride03 Posted:

Re: October 03 Brides.......

That sounds reasonable. Although I'd like to lose more than that per month! LOL- I guess I should really set small goals to start with.

I'm a 10 right now too... I'D love to be a SIX, but we'll see. Or even a loose 8, ya know? I have hope!!! I wanna wear a bikini on my honeymoon and not worry about how large my back side looks!!!!!!!

Edited to agree about the water thing!!! I have a bottle of water with me everyday... It takes so much energy to finish it! I used to go through 2 of those VERY LARGE poland springs and I can't do it anymore
mv1003 Posted:

Re: October 03 Brides.......

ha! I know all too well about that backside in a bikini... I want to be a SIXXXXXX by the wedding. So I figure if I can be and 8 by April, that gives me 6 months to reach my real goal. I think WW said 2 lbs a month is average and good (I could be wrong though)

OctBride03 Posted:

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Oh, see I don't read, you said a size 8 by April. I meant a size 6 by the wedding too. If I can get down that low by April, then I have some kind of problem. Anyway, I'm not sure what the average is. 2 lbs a month sounds good enough. But I was losing that a week when I was on WW. I don't care what it is as long as it comes off!!

By the way, I am starving!!!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Hang in there! It's almost lunch. Water.... and maybe some fruit? I need to buy a bunch of fruit and put it in the fridge here. OH, 2 pounds a week would sound great!!! I just think for Dec. it may not be a reachable goal.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

You're probably right! It's tough with the holidays. Anyway, I'm sticking it out until noon then I'll get some soup.
