October 03 Brides.......

Original post by mv1003

Where are all of you in your planning?

I'm looking high and low for a dj and a videographer. We got engaged over a year ago and I thought I had all this time... I'm now thinking I wasted so much time

OctBride03 where are you in the planning stages?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Okay, I didn't do the treadmill this morning but I swear I will tonight!!! Went to WW today and went up .4lb not too bad since i didn't go last week and it was thanksgiving. For Brunch I had soup and a veggie burger from Yogurt gormet(?) and i just ate a 2 point bar from WW. Okay now tonight is a challenge!

Glad to hear you both did well for lunch today!!

I'm doing my trial so early with JN for the same reason. Everyone seemed to be booking her. I think the bride that's getting maaried the week before me already booked her so i was getting nervous.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

That's not bad at all OCT1203!!! So you didn't do the treadmill... I've been meaning to start up on my Pilates again this week and it's Wednesday and NOTHIN! Tomorrow is another day!

I'll be sure to keep you posted on my JN trial. I'm thinking of taking before and after shots. You think that would be allowed??

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Oct1203- sounds fantastic! I'm totally obsessed- just like w/ this board- and I read an article about working out too... you actually get the best results if you can work out b/t 4 and 7pm... so you're better off at night. However, any kind of walking will always help

Last summer I was so sick of the innertube that rests on my waist that I was walking in the morning and going to the gym at night (just a background as to how obsessed I get )

do the pilates tonight... why put off tomorrow what you can do today just trying to be encouraging

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Thanks! I was only putting it off because I had a nail appointment. But I changed it... so pilates it is tonight! Thanks for the pep talk!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I think you can take before and after pic. Why wouldn't you be able to? I'm bringing my camera.

Well I don't think I'm doing the treadmill either tonight. I just came back from the foot doctor and he gave me a shot right in my heel. Try for tommorrow again. I did eat really good though all day!! Yipee for me! How did dinner go for you both?

On a different subject: what are you girls doing for new years? my friends and I are trying to come up with something not too expensive. Like a restaurant. Do you girls have any suggestions?

Octbride03-Did u get to do your pilates?

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Hey Ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA all day - got stuck in meetings after meeting. On a good note - was too busy to consume any junk food today Had grilled chicken on 1/2 a roll for lunch and a bag of mini pretzels for a snack. Just had a bowl of mini-wheats for dinner!!

New Year's Eve - FI and my MOH and her husband are going to Mohegan Sun. We started doing it last year, and now it's become tradition

I give you ladies a LOT of credit for working out. I still can't get into it

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Jesus - rereading these points I noticed - I eat a lot of carbs!!!! What the heck???

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Karen32- You go GIRL!!! Just make sure your eating enough. Don't starve yourself, then your body stops working. You slow down your metabalism(sp?) that way and your body works against what your trying to do. sorry I know my spelling ****s!

If anyone is into cookies or has a sweet tooth: Try Cafe Twists(from trader joes) or French twist(Yogurt gourmet, Bed,Bath & beyond, etc) they are the same thing...for 1 twist they have 40 or 45 cal and 1.5g of fat on WW they are 1 point. I'm having one now with my tea. They come in choc. chip, wild raspberry, almond and about 3 other kinds.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

I did okay the rest of the day!! I came home and I was motivated and I did my Pilates! woohoo! 50 mins of it!! So I treated myself to a fudgesical (sp?) They are fat free! Glad to hear everyone is doing well too!

OCT1203 - how's your foot?

As for New Years - I am going to my friend's house. Her and her FH are throwing a little get together. FH and I were in a phase where we did something EVERY year, but last year we threw a party and this year it's her... Next year who knows!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Good Morning Ladies -

Ready for all this snow?? I love the snow - but not when I have to commute 30+ miles to work.

Anyway - I have found the ultimate motivation - after searching for a pic of my dress I finally found one (I can't post it, though - it's too big ). I saved the pic to my desktop and renamed the icon - MOTIVATION. Whenever I want a soda or a candy bar - I click on it - and there's my dress!! A nice reminder!!! Hopefully it works!!

Octbride03 - Congrats on doing the Pilates!!!! I have got to get myself into it - I have the tapes - I just need to put them in the VCR!!!!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

What a good idea Karen!!! I should do something like that!!! I think that could work!!

As for the snow... Too bad it didn't start earlier, I made it to work too The train wasn't so bad, but I walk from Penn Station to 44th St. NOT FUN!

Re: October 03 Brides.......

Octbride03- that's awesome!!! Congrats! Believe me, it took everything in me to get to the gym last night. I took a cardio kickboxing class- which kicked my A*S!

Karen- you do need Carbs, don't cut them out completely. My point in saying that is... cutting back. I can only speak for myself when I tell you I can eat a bagel for breakfast, a sandwhich or chinese for lunch- and a nice bowl of pasta for dinner. (exaggerating just a little bit) the portions of what I love in pasta is what concerns me about me. Oct12 is right though- don't cut them out, it would be bad. I love your idea of 'Motivation'!!! I've got a picture of Aruba on my desktop- so I can think of how I would look in a bikini on the beach..

Ok- can I please share w/ you- how I can't quit!!! Oh my God! I'm in the class last night and we start doing these kicks. I'm looking in the mirror at my 'target' so I can see where I'm kicking- and all I could see is the 'junk in the trunk' jiggling!!!! I was so embarrassed! I don't think I even want to take that class again until I loose some of the wiggle- oh man! I'm so glad we've started this! I did good last night. I'm eating oatmeal for breakfast (w/ brown sugar though)- and I have a WW meal for lunch. My Christmas party is tonight- so, I've got to watch myself real good so I can have a least 2 drinks tonight

Re: October 03 Brides.......

mv1003 - I know exactly how you feel! My thighs are like flubber, which annoys me because I've dance for 18 years of my life! I stopped dancing last year, but COME ON!!!

I think I'm going to post some pics up on my cork board at work. I can't put in on my desk top! I was thinking of putting some pics on the fridge too. But I think a VERY large woman posted up might motivate me more. Because I see a sexy mamma and I'll say, 'yeah I have time' but if I see a big mamma I'll say, 'NO WAY - I need to stop eating!' I don't know. Today I just wanna go home and get in my pj's! But I guess I should do a little workout.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

mv1003 - your diet sounds just like mine!! Pasta is the easiest thing to make at night, and a sandwich is the only thing my client's cafeteria makes that is somewhat decent.

Unrelated to this - I have to ask - are your guys big babies?? Bob wakes up this morning with a slight cold and just HAD to stay home from work. I'm like - are you kidding me? You have the sniffles - get your a$$ to work!!!!
OctBride03 Posted:

Re: October 03 Brides.......

LOL!! My FH is a 6'5' BABY!!!! He won't call in to work for a cold, but he will not give it up if he has one!!! He'll wear a fleece and zip it up to his chin... Cover himself from head to toe and just sniffle... And every so often he'll whisper 'I'm siiiick' LOL - I think they need some TLC every once in a while! He makes me laugh though.

Re: October 03 Brides.......

So funny! I have to say- FH is not so much a baby when it comes to work. He'll go into work on his death bed!!! However, if it's a weekend, and he's nto feeling so good, he likes to be taken care of. (I guess, who doesn't?)

Oh, I never responded about New Year's. Probably b/c we don't have a clue. We're on a TIGHT budget, and both think the night is a bit over-rated. Not the night itself, just what everyone charges for the night. So.... we're up in the air.

Ha! A big mama on the fridge! That'll work- I had Britney & Jen Aniston once, never worked- I kept saying, yeah right! They're celebrities who can afford a personal trainer, and have food delievered to them- the opposite will do the trick.

I'm starving by the way!
