I sent order in for invites, now I am waiting for the proof.
Got final list from FMIL so I can finish typing them in a spreadsheet.

Wait until you get the proof! Mine came in this past week and it made everything seem extremely real. I actually couldn't put the proof down for the first few minutes, I kept staring at it - I think it was my first, wow-this-is-really-happening moment! And I can attest to the FACT that the clock has been running on double time since April 1st!

Strange how I feel like time is flying by but I STILL can't get anything done for the wedding. I don't know...I feel like I have SO much to do and when I look at my 'to do' list I don't even know where to begin. We ordered the invites about 2 weeks ago...they should be in any day. I suppose we need to order the favors next...and still make payments on everything that is left to pay. It's so overwhelming. PLUS--we just went into contract on a house a week ago, so that has taken much of our time.

I feel the same way! We've been in contract since April. As the mortgage rates continue to rise, so does my stress level!!!

I know the feeling! I'm sort of stressing out inside because even though i have 4 months left, i have quite a few weekends booked up already (between weddings to go to, baby showers, etc) so it's like... sh*t when am i going to do what i need to do?!?!?!

Oh and did i mention that we close on our land this week and have secured all permits and what not to start building. So not only will i be planning our wedding, but i'll have to pick out colors and designs for our house at the same time! (let me just say... yes i'm insane for doing both at the same time)

But i found a band i love. We're going into the city on tuesday to check out and a few things and if we don't find anything better, we'll be ordering that ring! You have no idea how relieved i am because it has been driving me nuts!

This weekend i finished pre-cana - check now we just have to figure out all the readings and music

We also placed the order for the invites hopefully the proof will come in before i go on vacation in a week:)

I haven't able to do much lately because of money issues. Dear of Dad is still making me wait on receiving his contribution to the wedding He replies don't worry nobody's keeping the money from you. I rely on some of that money because I already added it into my budget. FH and I already paid all of the deposits toward the vendors and given the hall $10,000.

Still haven't taken E-Pics
Still haven't look at wedding bands
Can't visit florist to see sample CP because they told me its too early (whatever @$$hole)
Can't order invites and favors, told (too early)
Didn't order FG dresses yet etc....
More things to do etc.........

Everything is still too early ( Vendors, 'You still have plenty of time' )

Whatever, that's all I can say. Sorry needed to vent.

I am so glad a october thread has been started. I still have alot left of planning to do. I picked out my invites but won't order them until june or july. My STD's were sent out about almost two weeks ago. I picked out my favors but won't order them for a while. I have to still pick out program cards, table names etc........

Glad this post was started, we did eveything paid most of the vendors off, just need to buy the groomsmen gifts and do the lil odds and ends, and acutally put together the bows on the invites fun times LOL!

Damn, we got that when we 1st got eng. back in may of 04, cuz we started doing things back then......It's hard these days for LI weddings everything is sooo damn exp$$$...Good luck and hope everything works out well.........

I dont know why you are being told its too early for so many things, that is wierd.
I have been told that I am little behind where I should be.
Tomorrow night we are meeting with an officiant, hopefully, as my track record proves, we can book him without having to make appts to see others.

I wouldn't wait too much linger on invites. It could take a few weeks to get them. Then you still need to have them addressed & stuffed. It sounds like a simple task, but it probably going to turn into a production line.

I understand not having cash on hand to do certain things, but I do NOT understand the 'it's to early' thing from vendors. I took e-pics last October, have had wedding bands since November, insisted on a sample CP before booking a florist, got my invites in my hands this past Friday, half my favors were delivered by UPS this past Thursday, and I ordered FG dress the same day I ordered BM dresses. If anyone had told me I did any of that stuff to early I would have told them to stick it someplace!!

October girls, I've been slacking. Just went this past weekend to look for BM dresses... true I only need 2, but still!

I think I found them! Dessy style #2040 in Lavender! Now I just need my MOH in California to try one on this weekend to see if she likes it... then I am ordering them!!! Almost done!

We found our invites like a month ago and have been through 4 proofs already in the hopes that they will get them right! (that's not a bad sign is it??? ) Anyway, I am going to check out the last proof today and I am thinking it should all be right... then we can get those ordered!

finally got all of my bridesmaids to put in their dress orders!! Don't know why it took so much prodding for them to actually pick up the phone and call in their measurements. it was driving me crazy! We had so much luck finding a dress everyone loved and was excited about and then a month went by without anyone completing the order after the official color was picked.

Did anyone else have this problem with needing to chase down bridesmaids?

I mean, everything is resolved now, complete order is in, thank goodness, but I'm just curious if anyone else went through this.
