Just wanted to see what kind of things you island ladies & future Mrs. Island ladies are doing for your big day. My fam is from Haiti and FH is Jamaican. We will probably incorporate food from both on our day The family will be surprised & happy.....and eating like crazy

I'm Haitian and my FH grandad is Jamaican, so I guess he it Jamaican too, lol. I didn't think of incorporating some Caribbean food into our reception. Those of you that are, what caterer are you using?

Hi everyone!! i was just informed of this thread and i'm sooo excited i found it!! Both FH and myself are Guyanese...we're having black cake at the reception along with the wedding cake ....dont know how else to incorporate something west indian into the reception

We are doing the same: black cake, soca, reggae, indian music. Honestly, I dont think there are any Guyanese traditions for us to incorporate, lol.

1. Makeup Artist/Hairstylist
2. DJ? So far I have heard many good things about Ultimat Sds DJs but I would like to check out any other personal favorites out there too.
3. Photographer.
I appreciate all reviews/recommendations. Congratulations to my fellow 2010ers and 2009ers!!

Welcome and congrats. Both my FH and I are west indian so music was important. We booked with After Hours because they can accomodate american music and our music. Check out Phil from there.
I am using the same girl I use every 2 weeks to do the hair. She has done wonders with my hair: Darlene 516-603-0896...tell her charonda sent you and you are from LIW.
I am using ********* for photography. We choose them becasue we didnt want the traditional wedding photos. We both like the weird angles and effects that they do. We also clicked with the owner John right away. silverfoxvideo.com
