Ok I figured to create the official Westbury Manor 2008 thread for all WM brides (and those who want to peak ) because wellllll we dont have one. I did found one but its from 2003 and its over 100 pages long. So come in and enjoy. HAPPY PLANNING

Hello
I'm a Westbury Manor bride. We are getting married September 28, 2008. I absolutely loved the place. We actually weren't planning on going there because my sister threatened my life (even though she had booked Crest Hollow) but my FH overshot the exit to another catering hall and as we drove past I asked him to turn around and go in. It was meant to be. Well congratulations to all the brides to be.

Who's using the Garden room?

Yaaaay!!
I fell in love with the Manor on my first visit. The second visit with the families totally sold it. :) I've got the manor room for a Sunday afternoon. Not sure yet how i'm going to decorate it, and if i'm going to try to drape the windows to make the room a little darker (even though the sun'll set pretty early). Any decorating ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Off to work (no access to LIW there...BOOOOO!!)

Enjoy the day ladies!

I will be using the Garden Room / Library for CH if it rains or if its bad weather, otherwise it will be outdoors and the dinner will be in the Manor Room. The Garden Room is soooo pretty, its a mini version of the Manor Room, IMO. We saw it all decorated for an event and it was beautiful. Does anyone want to share pics that they took when they visited WM? I will def take some when I go to the showcase in March. Who else is going?

I am happy that we renewed this thread. We really did need a new one.

We are having our reception in the Manor Room. I have booked the place twice so I havea question for some of you.

When I first booked I booked with Susan and she said that the grounds were mine throughout the whole night.

Second time I booked I was told that the grounds were mine but that the Garden Room were going to use the outside also. SO what has everyone been told?

Is Viennes Hour for the Manor Room in the side or front patio? I was a bit confused about that also.

MARCH 14 BRIDA LSHOWCASE

How many people can we bring both min e and FHs parents want to go and so do my brother and his fiane...they booked Bravura and want to see them perform.

I heard from the BM that 300 brides will be attending that night. Do you think it may be a bit packed? Maybe they meant that 300 people in total with brides and guests?

Any ideas for outside decorating? I mean if I am sharing it with someone can I decorate it or should I respect the other bride? I really dont want a DOC but may need one for this dilemma.

I booked with Susan too. She is a really nice lady and funny. What do you think of her? I have the whole place to myself thats if no one else books the litte rooms for the 1st of June, I hope no one else books but if they do I dont mind having another bride, bec I heard you dont even realize there is another party going on, whatever. My VH will be set up right outside the Manor room.

I was told that the VH will be set up right outside the manor room also. but when I went back a few weeks ago to show one of my BM, the lady said that the VH is on the patio where you have the CH. I really wanted it right outside the Manor room this way people can still hear the music and be on the dance floor. I hope no one books the little room also. But when I booked they said that normally no one books the little room on a sunday night. So hopefully it stays that way...lol

I have the Garden room. I thought that we was going to share the garden area once my cocktail hour was over. I will call Mel and ask him right know. All right I just got off the phone with WM, the young lady said some times there are two receptions at one time not often but if it is then who ever has the Garden will is the only one's with access to the garden area.

When I went in October there were famlies there with 4 and 5 people. I don't think it's a limit.

YAY!!! I've been waiting for someone to do this!!! I would have if it weren't for my laziness.

I'm from NY, but am currently in stinking Boston for school. So We did all our reception hall research online...and quickly realized that we LOVED WM. So we made a trip down and just hoped that it wasn't one of those places that only look good in pictures. It wasn't....it was gorgeous. We didn't bother looking anywhere else.

I won't be able to make it down for the showcase so everyone PLEEEEAAAASE write all about it!!!

Does the VH come with candles or is that something extra that you pay for??? Does the WM provide them or can you purchase them on your own???? I would love to have candles everywhere inside and out. It adds such a nice inimate touch. Candles are cheap if you buy them on your own. How was the VH, is the selection of desserts INSANEEEEE and overwhelming, hahaha. I am dying to know. Any pics by any chance???

I'm doing candles as my centerpiece because I thought it would look soooo nice there, especially with all the fireplaces lit...

I went to WM a couple of months ago and they had the fireplace on (bec it was freezing out, hahah) so nice to walk into the room with the fireplace going. The fireplaces wont be on in the summer obviously so I would want thick pillar candles be displayed nicely inside the fireplaces and let the candles melt all night. That would be sooo nice
