Hey all you 09 Swan Club girls! I figured since there are quite a few of us now, we could definitely start our own thread. I like using the past threads for some great ideas, but I also figured this is a good place for us 09 planners to post questions and share ideas.
If I am missing any, or as new girls book just let me know and I will update the list!

Has anyone thought about getting a cake from a baker instead of using the swan club cake? I really liked Leonetti's cakes from the showcase. has anyone looked into how much it is for a cake? i am totally in the dark on this one..

He told us about 6 to 7 dollars a slice. i liked Swan Clubs cake and I'm already ordering a grooms cake so I wont be using another 1200 to 1500 on another cake.

On the floor plan, it looks like one bar goes in the corner (to the right of the cocktail hour room door) catty cornered and the second one yes is kind of in that room where the cakes were set up, but it's against the windows and more in the actual camelot room perimeter. does that make sense? sorry if my explanation confusing.
for some reason, i also remember jordana saying a bar could be against the wall next to the entrance doors to the camelot room... if you're sitting at the sweetheart table, it would be the furthest away from you on the right side of the wall... kind of next to the dj/band setup .... i think it all depends on how many guests bc tables may or may not have to be put there

Does anyone know where they put the bars in the Camelot room? I was thinking of one in that little side room where you first walk in (where they had the cakes at the showcase), but where does the other one go? In the corner near the CH room?
Also, has anyone thought about having a photo booth? Do you think there would be enough room for that and the bar in that room when you walk in?
I want the photobooth in the area they had the cake... we will se how it works out.

Wow I didn't realize it was going to be that much. Yes I liked the swan club cake too, and definitely liked it enough to not pay an extra 1500 for a cake...

Whomever get the info on the menu changes first, please post to this thread.
Sorry this took so long to get answered! The changes arent huge... I thought they were at first glance... The only 'major' things are that they have a couple less passed apps at CH... and eliminiated intermezzo from the platinum menu (which FH is dead set on having lol)... they added filet of sole oraganata to the entrees which is def good and something we are going to choose... other than that, its just little things here n there that got replaced with other things, but not a big deal

We're doing the Glen Cove Mansion... no shuttle from them but we're getting one from our limo company. It was $159 a night for the group rate and they have a bar that they'll keep open for an after party.

Just an FYI, I had a huge problem with the way the Glen cove Mansion blocks, so I never blocked, but then my mom found online that you can book with them through priceline & travelocity for $139 a night, so I am happy I didn't block cause it wound up cheaper in the long run

Really? A few people have said that, luckily we didn't have any issues. Maybe it's bc I made FH call them and he's good at sweet talking.

i did really like the bar area at the glen cove mansion, i thought it was great and had good room, pool tables and other games, but in the end we went with La Quinta just because I thought the location was easier for our OOT guests to get to, and it was more of a midway point between the church and the Swan Club. I think you do have to think of what is more convenient for your guests when it comes to the hotel. i think either the mansion or la quinta would be nice

Hey Girls,
I'm new to the thread. Just wanted to let you know that even if the hotel website says there is no availability you should still try calling. Sometimes their websites are off. Your advice and suggestions have been so helpful. Thanks to all of you!

Re: *Official 09 Swan Club Thread*
Been reading about Swan Club, and we booked it last weekend. Not sure if anyone is still making plans, or if everyone is done and just waiting. But, we've booked the Contessa room for Saturday, August 22, 2009.
We also booked the ceremony, so will be starting at 11am. Jordana was great, and she is one of the reasons we chose Swan Club.
We had looked at Metropolitan, Chateau Briand, Jericho Terrace, Woodbury Country Club, Coral House, Westbury Manor but decided that Swan Club was the most beautiful and the best price.
We're just starting planning, so it's been good to read about everyone's experiences.

Does anyone know how the menu picking works? I know you're supposed to go there for lunch first to try the food... do you go there at any specific time? Just wondering bc FH is off next week and that would prob be the only time we can make it there for lunch. Hmmmmm....
