*Official 09 Swan Club Thread*

Original post by ilovedave1119

Hey all you 09 Swan Club girls! I figured since there are quite a few of us now, we could definitely start our own thread. I like using the past threads for some great ideas, but I also figured this is a good place for us 09 planners to post questions and share ideas.

SC girls...i have a question regarding the bathroom situation. are you guys making bathroom baskets, or is it different bc there will be other events going on? I wanted to make one but i don't want other parties using all of my stuff (i mean i dont care if it's used sparingly but I want to make sure my guests benefit the most)....thoughts?

also, has anyone discussed where the vendors eat? i'm in camelot...do they let them eat in the cocktail hour room?

I'm probably going to make small bathroom baskets (baskets were on sale at Michaels so I just bought them.) There's only one other event going on on my day (so far) and it's in the downstairs room so we should have the bathroom to ourselves.

Ooh good question about vendors! The cocktail room would be my guess too.

oooh, that would be great if we were the only party upstairs...but since its high prom and grad season i'm thinking we won't be so lucky...

True... but I would think that most proms would be in the Camelot room since it's bigger. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Does anyone know how many rows of chairs they have set up for the ceremony in the pavillion?

Re: *Official 09 Swan Club Thread*

I was told that depends on how many guests you finalize with them. Drove me crazy.

In regards to where vendors eat, I asked this question prior to booking and they stated that they could eat in the cocktail hour room.

What hotel are you using for OOT guests?

Re: *Official 09 Swan Club Thread*

I used Four Points Sheraton in Plainview. We really liked the rooms and the service.

La Quinta's been getting some good feedback that seems consistent. Love GlenCove Mansion, but it was much higher priced, like the Garden City Hotel.

Really? They gave us a rate of $159 a night, I thought that was pretty good.

The economy must have hit them because in January I was given a quote of $189 and I was able to get Four Points initially at $139 and then later, down to $119 for my guests. Now we are talking two very different hotels here and the mansion is much closer to the Swan Club. I had so many OOT guests that I could not ask them to travel as far as they did and pay over $150. I know for some of them just making the trip was an expense. Just my thing.

Hi...
I just wanted to say congratulations on having your reception at the Swan Club. The Swan Club was one of our favorite places to check out and on top of our list for wedding locations.

I just wanted to give you a quick review because I actually went to a 50th birthday party there a few weeks ago. The function was in the room all the way on the right side next to the bar. I was originally a 2009 bride and that party was supposed to be my shower...you can imagine how bitter sweet the day was. My MOH had to change it since we had to postpone our wedding another year. It worked out well though because she wanted to have a 50th for her mother.

As for the Swan Club, everything was just perfect. The staff couldn't be nicer. Food was incredible. The waiters were extremely attentive and friendly. The place had excellent upkeep. My FH and I absolutely loved it! I know your guests are truly going to have a wonderful time at your wedding. Although we are having our reception in a different location, attending this party reminded why we loved the Swan Club so much!

Best of luck to all of you!
