In another post we were all talking about the 2009 bridal shower. I am making this thread to see how many people are interested in attending, so we can call places and get some pricing.

Hey... I had another idea too... maybe we could even invite the 08 girls and they could do a re-gifting of something they used from their wedding... or bring stuff and we could have a chinese auction!
So not that I have anything against 08ers at all but I think we should have our own 09 shower. If it is going ot be an 09 gtg then lest keep it an 09 gtg..ya know?
agreed... and please gurls... dont knock yourself out with all this planning... the wedding planning in itself is stressful.... this should be a relaxed occasion for all of us! i really dont think decorations/favors/ etc etc are really needed.... Lets just make it a regular GTG but it'll be in a nice place with an exchanging of gifts... no1 should bust their asss for this fake thing... LOL
I agree. It would be silly to add more into each person's cost just to see a centerpiece or get a favor.
we arent going to do anything crazy! were just going to have a good time and make a nice day for all of us!
I understand its for a good time but when you figure the per person cost and then the gift plus some girls would need to take off of work or drive long distances or something - to add potentially another $10 pp sounds a little crazy. At least to me... but if girls dont want to do it, they just wont.

well there were two of us that offered our backyards for this and to have a pot-luck which would have been alot cheaper but everyone seemed to want to have it out... I dont care either way but if money is an issue then why not save it and have everyone bring a dish and have something that would be even cheaper! honestly...how much is ballons and confetti going to cost? I dont think its goign to put anyone in the poor house iwhen your already spending $30 pp

im goign to call some places in nassau this weekend to get some price ideas and then we can go from there ...if its ends up being too much then we can re think it and maybe go with the original idea of having it in someones backyard and having a potluck.... it totally up the the majority

I just feel it's unnecessary, but that's me.

I dont think that balloons is goign to add an extra $10 to everyones cost... we have about 40 people going ...so I would say maybe $2...if its really that big of a deal I will donate the balloons michesq already said she was going to make to favors out of her pocket because she wants to... we will see how everything goes we are JUST starting to plan and get ideas so nothing is final

I didnt mean it as a budget thing. Just something not necessary. I guess it's because I never was a balloon type of girl. Obviously an extra $10 isn't a budget breaker.

Maybe a Sunday brunch - to allow out of town brides to be the possibility of attending? - But I agree... the idea of saving money is wonderful!
Agreed! if it is a weekend i can probably make it, but a weekday i won't be able to get there since i'm coming from philly....but i'm in as long as i'm free and it's a weekend

For some it actually may be. So the girls who do have a tighter budget should consider all factors. Do i think somethings arent necessary absolutely but im not going to stress it ill just go with the flow! So everyone can have a great time with NO DRAMA!

I know of a great place that can definately hold any size group that we may have.... It's called Domenico's. It's on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. It has amazingly great food and service is wonderful! I may be able to pull some strings and either get an even lower price or get some things thrown in. That's not a definite, but I have somewhat of a connection.
We could do the party menu at a decent price (under $30). Let me know what you think.
