Hi Ladies, I want to start this thread so we can talk about DeSeversky and share thoughts and ideas. I know there are 2 others getting married at DeSeversky so far.

Okay, I remember now, his last name was Palmer. My mom fell in love with his work that they had displayed there. I will definately check him out, I too agree I would like to go with someone who knows 'the' shots to take at the mansion.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
A friend of my brother-in law is getting married at DeSeverskey next weekend so I will get the full scoop and be sure to post it. Regarding tip jars, when I first signed my contract I spoke to Debbie about that. She said that they do not put them out but to be sure I put it in my contract. I am meeting with DOC Rosalie tomorrow for the first time and am excited about that. I also booked my florist this past Saturday which made me happy. Now I am up to photography. I only looked at one place so far and loved them. I wanted to book on the spot. However, a lot of people are telling me they seemed very high priced. If you don't mind me asking how much is everyone paying for photography and videography?

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I'm using Verdi as my photographers. They blew everyone else away IMO. They are a little more expensive, but I liked them best.
I've heard 12th night is fabulous, though. I liked Duet when I went to see them.
Ummmmm... I'm going to have to get that in writing about the tip jars too. . . .
LiznMike: Def let us know how the wedding went!! Here's my photographer's site www.fotoverdi.com

Hi Everyone:
I met with DOC Rosalie last night and she was great. Michael and I booked her on the spot. I know a lot of you are using her so thanks so much for the suggestion. I think she is going to be a tremendous help the dayof the wedding. She did scare me a bit though. She told me she thinks I should have ordered my dress by now but I am still in the process of looking. I have two appointments tomorrow and one next Tuesday so hopefully by the end of October I will be all set. Does everyone else have there dresses already?

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I don't have my dress yet and I am getting married in July. Some designers may require at least a year (i.e. eve of milady), but I am not worried. Give yourself 8-10 months.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I am so happy to hear that. My brother got married in Aug 04 and his wife said she did not start dress shopping until October. Plus my sister only had a six month engagement and was able to find a dress. They both also got designer gowns that were absolutely gorgeous. I figured I still had a little time but Rosalie almost gave me a heart attack. Thanks for making me feel better!

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
My wedding is in June and I haven't ordered my dress yet. Going to RK Bridal in Manhattan on Saturday, I hope my dream dress awaits!
I've already had a few people tell me I'm behind schedule on the dress thing. I only got engaged in August though.
A few dress shops I've been to, take 4 to 6 months for the dress to come in plus you need some time for fittings and alterations. You can always order your dress as a rush, you just have to pay extra.
Good luck!

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
Hi girls:
LiznMike: I don't think you're behind with the dress thing at all. I thought outside the box when I went to look for a dress- I had a really hard time with the idea that i was going to spend so much money on something I was only going to wear for a few hours on one day. I came across my dress on a whim- Priscilla of Boston was having a sale and I got my dress for about 75% off of the original price. . . it was pure luck.
If I hadn't gone to POB, I had made an appointment with the Bridal Garden in NYC. They sell dresses that have been donated and the proceeds all go to a children's shelter. Most of the stuff is couture. I figured that if I was going to spend that much, I wanted to know that the money would benefit someone.
I was at De Sev on Saturday to check out the set-up for mansion style wedding. It looked beautiful and this bride had a huge floral budget so there were flowers everywhere. A few other couples were there looking around too, not sure if any of you were there.
The new curtains are not up yet, even though last time I was there Debbie said they'd be up by now. So I'm not sure what's going on with those.
Are any of you thinking of putting up a sign at the entrance on Northern Blvd? I am afraid my guests will get lost or drive right by the entrance to NYIT.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I am sooooooooooo excited I can hardly sit still sometimes. I am definitely a little nervous. I just want the day to go as planned. Not looking for perfection but close to it I know something will go wrong and hoping it is nothing major. All my projects and to do lists are coming to an end. So glad to have done so much in advance. It really helps out towards the end.
I have been working with Debbie on the final details and she has been great. I think I sent her 3 emails today and she replied within a few minutes. Can't ask for more then that! I am meeting with her for final details and drop off of my reception items next week. Then Thursday night RD and Saturday is the big day It doesn't feel real to me yet.
