YAY! i saw this thread and got excited lol..I'm also 1st generation italian. My mom's from Castellammare Del Golfo, Sicily and my dad's from Serradifalco, Sicily. You girls having a big fat italian wedding like I am? lol
no way, my dad is from castellammare del golfo!!! cool! my mom is from ischia (sister island of capri).
not have a big fat italian wedding (i am on a budget! haha!) but trying to incorporate some things of my culture like music, and maybe the favors... i really wanted to do soemthing edible but my mom would frown upon me if i didn't give out, like a cappuccino cup set or a serving dish..we'll see!

wow how weird is that?! We're having a very italian wedding (parents wouldn't have anthing less)..with relatives coming from Italy and all that good stuff. My nonna is also bringing me chocolate confetti of 2 interlocking rings to put on my favors..poor thing has to carry them by hand the whole flight! Ah! I can't wait..we actually book out RH last night so I'm still very excited about it lol.

Jordan Almonds: just make sure there's an odd number (i.e. 5) per guest. Italians think it's unlucky to have an even number.

So thrilled to see this thread! There's nothing better than a big fat italian wedding! I too will be having family come in from Italy and will be having Italian music, etc. It looks like everyone on here has had the favor dilema. Im getting a photbooth and wanted to do the pictures and frames as favors, but I think my family would look at me like I was crazy...especially my grandmother!!

Do any of you Italian ladies know of a good DJ with an Italian MC? I'm thinking of going with a DJ instead of paying rediculous amount of money for an italian band. Thanks!

My sister got married this past december and she used DJ's Unlimited. They had an italian speaking MC... my entire family LOVED him. I did not hire him for my own wedding because by that time I had booked my DJ and FH wanted more of a 'toned down' DJ (this MC was very involved but my family is crazy and loves that stuff lol)
