cool thread!! I'm 1/2 italian, my dad was born in Campagna (Sturno to be exact) I just found out that I can get my italian citizenship if I claim residence there since he became an american as a minor (wasn't his choice) wooohoo

Im a little concerned what my italian family is going to think (we arent' getting married in a church but at a reception hall) but i'll make sure there's plenty of pasta and wine!! :)

Iam a dual citizen of Usa/Italy.I have voted more times for an Italian election than an American. The passport is a pain in the neck but you get it like ASAP. Def do it!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Ciao belle spose!

Can any of you tell me where I can buy a bride doll? I'm pretty sure the last time someone in my family bought one was for my mom in 1977 lol. My sister is getting married before I am and her shower is in a few months, so I have been put on the doll search...

TIA!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

What a great post!

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good DJs for Italian weddings. My fiance's family and my family would love it if the MC spoke a little Italian, and of course played the traditional Italian songs.
TIA!

i mean absolutly no disrespect by this

How much has everyone aloted for favors??
i know that most brides are doing an ice scream scoop/coasters things like that(those are some great favors)
i know how my family is and i don't know if anyone has the same kind of family.. but if they were given something liek that as a favor i think we would be the talk of the family.

so where is everyone looking but not spending a fortune?? or are you spending a fortune???

haha, yes, I have that type of the family. The bonbobierie is a very big thing. I think I might go with an espresso cup set. Check out myitalianweddingfavors.com It will crack you up, but it's probably where I'll end up getting something!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Girls FH and I are having a hard time finding a good DJ with an ITalian MC. Everyone in my family has used italian bands for their weddings so I really don't have much info. I wanted Satisfaction Guaranteed but Jack (their italian MC who did out eparty) is booked that day..any suggestions? I have a lot of family coming to the wedding from Italy (my nonni most importantly) and I'd like a fluent MC so that they know whats going on throughout the night. TIA

i'm not one bit italian, hope you don't mind me crashing!! but i have to b/c i am marrying a 100% --parents from Italy-- Italian guy!!!

i'm having my band do Mambo Italiano b/c they sing that really well and i think that's it, is that not enough?? vinny (FH) is not really into it a lot... a little bit but nothing crazy, i think that song will be just enough for him! maybe an italian merlot bottle groom's cake or something...

I'll be dancing to 'When Irish Eyes are Smiling' with my Grandfather lol so we each get one song!

er, I wouldn't play Mambo Italiano... I would do te amo instead. Everyone's heard that song before and can figure out what 'te amo' means...
