I want to go! Jennifer said they have food tastings set up for brides up to the month of June - so mine should be in February (along with the showcase!). I can't wait!

I talked to Jennifer about a week ago - and Land's End hadn't selected a definite date yet, but she said it would most likely be February 19th (day before President's Day).

Have you ever or has anyone ever been to a showcase at Land's End or anywhere before? I have no idea what to expect at a showcase when I go...

Re: Official Land's End Thread
Yeah I went last year. The reception area has all the vendors - video, photo, some tables set up with different linen colors and floral arrangements, DJs, harpist.
The Cocktail room (right outside the reception area) has some more vendors and appetizer foods. The waitstaff is carrying around other hot appetizers (so good!). Behind the bar (to the right when you go in) they have sample deserts (different cakes and of course the chocolate fountain) and the Island Boys were there last year.
Outside are limos.
I would recommend going late - last year we went right on time and it was PACKED - but when we left it was so much less crowded and there was still plenty of good food and vendors to see.

Re: Official Land's End Thread
Land's End is definitely one of the more pricey halls, but it's definitely worth it. I've booked for October 2007 and can't wait. I've been to a wedding there already so I know the food and service is excellent. Any place that holds one function at a time will be a bit more, but me personally, I would HATE to see another bride walking around the day of my special day.

Hi Everyone,
I am extremely interested in Lands End (for '07). Can you give me some info on why you chose lands end instead of some less expensive places? I absolutely love it but I really need to justify to myself why i should spend the extra money.

Re: Official Land's End Thread
I guess they book your tasting relatively close to your wedding date. That's why I haven't received any of these invites. I'm getting married Oct. 2007.
About how many couples are there? How long are you there for?
Has anyone heard any further info about the 'motel;' accommodations they're renovating across the street?

Re: Official Land's End Thread
Has anyone thought about the extras for cocktail hour yet? I'm going back and forth about adding on 'Jewels of the Sea'. Is anyone adding that on? If you did already, would you mind me being nosy and asking if you got a good deal, $16 pp is a little crazy...

I'm with ya on that one. I was thinking of adding that one too but it is a lot of money and I have been to weddings there before where they didn't have any of the add ons and there was still tons of food. So right now we're still up in the air about it.

Is everyone going to the showcase even if they booked most of their vendors already?
