I am so glad you set this up!

Here's my blurb from my review of the Cottage.... its from a year and a half ago... but I still agree with everything I wrote!

Milleridge Inn- Cottage - couldn't of asked for anything better. Everyone raved about the food....even I got to sit and eat dinner which I was happy about. Our Maitre'd was Sam - who never let me or Jerry go 5 minutes without a drink or asking if we needed anything. They were very accomadating. and the dozen roses on the table looked beautiful. No complaints about anything.

That's great that you set this up. There never was one when I was planning. This website was such a great tool for me. Good luck to everyone!!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Were any of you at the showcase last month?
What did you think?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I was. I'm kind of nervous about the cocktail hour and it being way too crowded. I didn't really like the circular table in the middle of the room - there's no way to join the line then. What did you think?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I had the same thoughts about the circular table. My dad couldn't get into the line- nobody would let him in!

Is that how it will be set up for us?
I would rather all the stations be agains the windows.

How many guests are you having?
We are hoping to keep it around 200-220.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

how fun! so glad there is finally a milleridge thread!
i was at the showcase (more for the free food...most of my stuff is already booked!), the circle in the middle was a mobscene, but i have been to weddings there set up like that and it seemed to work out okay!
has anyone done a tasting? when i called & asked about that, the woman who answered the phone was like 'oh, you want to do a tasting? ' like that was such an odd request!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I was wondering about the tasting too. What was the end result of yours - are you having one? I think they're slightly behind the times as far as the little things expected of a catering hall.

Who is your banquet manager? Are you guys guetting the 2 star or 3 star menu? Mine is Nadine (love her!) and we're doing the 2 star menu but we got them to throw in the dozen roses instead of half dozen.

the official result was that i am supposed to call a month or 2 before the wedding, and i can schedule a tasting when i am ready to finalize the menu. we are doing the 2 star menu, and it wouldn't have mattered about the flowers b/c we totally changed the centerpieces when we met with the florist (Bob, he is SO awesome!). we are using nadine as well.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Eileen, thanks for postign this.
I was jsut thinking that I wanted to ask you ladies baout the 2 or 3 star menue.
I wnet with the 2 & now am worry it will look cheap or skimpy.
2 couples we are freinds with got married last year so I have this fear that both groups of our froiends are goign to be comparing everyting i do to those weddiongs.

Kristy is our banquet manager & is great.
I believe it is Nadine who has helped me when Kristy was not avaialable. She is great too.

We are not usuing the ceterpeices, we are using a different florist all togther, but Kristy said we can use the flowers elsewhere, I'm not exatly sure where though. maybe on the coctail tables, maybe on the cake.

there are a few more Milleridge reviews, I will try & find the links.

BTW- Kazee525, besides both booking the milleridge, we have the same dress.

Oh yeah, I was told we could do a tasting when did the menu-we could have done one before we booked, but I was kinda in a time crunch.

I should have gone to the showcase for the food, but its hard for me to get to LI on a weekday.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Heather - thanks for posting those! I kept searching for franksbride's review but couldn't find it.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

No problem- Most of those weren't on the review board, so it took a little searching.

I can't wait to hear Cherylbooch's review. She posted a few ceremony pics, but none of the milleridge.

I am trying to book the carriage house for a sunday afternoon wedding.
do you think that the 2 star menu would be too much for an afternoon wedding?

No, I think it's fine! And in answer to your question tourist, I think it's fine either way - night or day wedding. I don't think it looks cheap nor do I think it looks too extravagant. It's just right.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

We are doing the 2 star menu also, and we will possibly add a vienesse and an extra hour. It all depends on the final guest list - hopefully it wont go up too much!

My BM is Leslie - anyone else dealing with her? she is very nice.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I have Leslie. She is very nice. I spoke to her last week to set up out tasting on May 15th. I'm very excited. I love the room, but I kind of hate that huge mural on the wall. Oh well. I'm nervous about the cocktail hour because I've been hearing there aren't enough seats.

Great thread! I am working w/Nadine and so far I am very happy with the Milleridge. I also selected the 2 star menu.
