I have Leslie. She is very nice. I spoke to her last week to set up out tasting on May 15th. I'm very excited. I love the room, but I kind of hate that huge mural on the wall. Oh well. I'm nervous about the cocktail hour because I've been hearing there aren't enough seats.
I am starting to worry about that too. How many guests are you having?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
I'm glad it's not just me! I'm inviting 250 so hopefully I'll have about 200 and I'm really nervous that the CH is going to be insanely crowded. Have any of you guys ever been to a wedding there?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
I had 210 at the Cottage and we had no problems with CH. Between the people who sat at tables, the people at the bars, the people outside at tables...everything was fine.

SO excited that you made this thread. I am obessed with the Milleridge! My contact is Deb and she has been great so far. We haven't done our tasting yet but I'm thinking it will be towards the ebs of the month. We are also using the florist there. Chris is fantastic!
Thanks again for starting this.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
ok, I have ANOTHER ( long)Milleridge question. Are any of you NOT going to a separate place for pictures? I don't think we are. Kristy said we can go inside the carriage house at 6 30. The coctail hour starts at 7. We should get to the Milleridge abut 5:30. We were told we could take pictures in front of the Inn & in the village, but the Village might have a lot of people walking around ( ok, my guest mostly)
I don't really have the time or desire to go to a separate location. But I don't wnat to miss the coctail hour, by taking pictures inside for more than a half hour. Do you think this will work? And what about pictures with family. When do those get done? During the reception?

Answering both, tourist...
I have seen the placecards and they're just simple ivory cards. Not sure if they have any other options for them but when we went to see the Cottage for the first time it was about 30 mins before a wedding started and that was what was set up.
As for pictures - I'm not going anywhere else for pictures. Since our ceremony is there as well, we're not doing limos so we're there for the day. The guest arrival time is 6pm and, assuming there's a day wedding that day, I can't get in until 5:30. I'm just going to take 1/2 hour of the cocktail hour for pictures both in and outside of the Cottage (I'm not into having any taken in the village). As for family pictures, I'm going to do them during the reception. I think this makes the most of our time. I guess I should add, though, that I'm really not into the posed pictures very much so I'm not going to have too many to take - I prefer photojournalism which works well with the time contraints.

We are taking our pictures at Milleridge. SInce it will be winter, most of our pictures will be inside the Cottage, with the Christmas decorations up.

Yeah, I'm having 2 photographers, one is for tradiotonal, I'm not into too many posed either , but I do want a few group ones with family. Your plan is similar to mine. That was helpful--thanks. I just have to promise FH that he won't miss the CH- he is all about the carving station.

EOGARA--I told my family those would be our thank you pics! but I'd be behind the man & FH behind the woman.
Anyway, bumping to see if November12003 or CheryBooch had insight on placecards & pictures, if you are around.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
I'm here!!
We actually didn't take pictures in the village at all. I don't have any regrets though.
My ceremony was in Port Washington at 2:30. We were done at the church just before 4pm. We went over to CW Post and took pictures there until we lost light. Then we headed over to the Inn at Fox Hollow and took a bunch more pictures (so we could get the family pics done)...then went to the Milleridge. We got there about 6:45 and we got the whole extended family together to take a few more pics and we were done before CH.

As for placecards, I didn't use theirs. They were plain. I had a whole fall theme, so I used these instead...

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
Those are cute. The ones I am thinking fo using are plain, but I'd have them done in Calligraphy instead of a fill in the blank. are the Milleridge ones fill in the blank?
I'm not so crazy about taking pictures in the village, but maybe over by the Inn. & then inside the Carriage house.

I'm not sure if they're fill in the blank or just blank.

Has anybody thought about doing the votive candles as the placecards? Does Milleridge let you do that?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
I should request a sample of the place cards.
I think candle placecards would be ok. You can bring in extra candles & you can make your own placecards, so i don't see why you can't combine both. Just double check if you are sure that's what you want. I didn't feel like making them, but they do look nice.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!
Two things:
1) MERMIKE53194 - welcome to the thread, I've added you to the list in the first post.
2) lianemarie, yes, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the candle placecards. I'm thinking it'll be a dual purpose. I wanted lots of candlelight in the room and the guests taking them to the table will serve the purpose of candlelight without having to pay for votives. The tea lights for the placecards are SOOOO much cheaper!
ETA: oooh, a third thing - tourist, it would be so funny if you did that as your thank you!!
