Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I put Milleridge Carriage house on my invites & Carriage house at Milleridge Inn on my diretcion cards. I had them made up my Snappy Map, b/c I needed the church & hotel too & only wanted 1 peice of paper.

the map on the card is the same as on the website & that wasn't very helpful , when I was trying to write my own directions.

Turns out most people mapquested it anyway.

ETA- and a few people went to the Cottage & 1 couple from a wedding there, came to ours!

I was so sloppy about mine and regret it, but I wanted my invites out sooner than later. Holiday Inn hadn't sent me their direction cards in time (small, neat cards, too, darnit) so I photocopied the Milleridge Inn info. and printed that on one side and printed the Holiday Inn info. on the other side (I think I got their info. on the internet). B/c the Milleridge Inn info. was on one side and the Holiday Inn on the other, many guests (granted, old, Italian relatives) kept presuming the wedding was at the Holiday Inn!!! I was so angry at the miscommunication and blamed myself, but it wasn't the best idea. I just wanted folks to have enough time to receive it and reply by month's end (they were sent out 10/4 and the due date was 10/30). Whattaya gonna do? It all worked out in the end.

OK, here's my revised directional.

I wrote text directions on a clear label and put it on the directional.

What do y'all think?

One more odd Milleridge question -- on your invitations, did/will you refer to it as Milleridge Cottage (or Carriage House) or as The Cottage (or Carriage House) at Milleridge?

TIA

These are great. Where in the parking lot would you note where the Carriage House is?

Lianemarie! Have a great time this Friday night. I just checked to see who's next at the Milleridge and you're just 3 days away. If you check here, ENJOY!!!!

There's the sign on that tree when you pass the Inn on the way to the rest of the parking lot that notes which event/wedding is in which location with an arrow pointing to where it is. I wouldn't worry too much about directing them to the Carriage House or Cottage per se, just get them to the location itself.

By the way, I have my final meeting and tasting Saturday with Nadine, I'll post after I come home.

I have Milleridge's wording for this on a big piece of paper at home. I hope to remember to post this for you later!

Thanks. Let me know how the tasting goes! I went to FH's Christmas Party there a few weeks ago and everything was great.

Ok. As per the big piece of paper from Milleridge, 'The Carriage House is the last building on the right hand side.'

Question for past/future Carriage House Brides. What is/was your invite list? The room 'fits' 130 but I know that would be way too crowded and my list is up there near that number and I'm freaking now.

I think we invited a little over 100 including possible 'and guests' 85 came ( including us)

They know what they are doing. If you have 120-130, you willhave msiotly oval tables & the dance floor int eh middle ( which you can have anyway) If you have fewwer people, youcan have hte dance flor on the side, like I did.

Eileen--I fm'd you about the cake, but for anyone else who is interested, buttercream or whipped cream is included, fondant is possible, but extra.
I had ivory buttercream in a basket- weave pattern with cascading ivory buttercream flowers.

Thanks, we freaked out because a bartender at FH's Christmas party told us that 130 is WAY too much and that the BM's do that just to sell more for their commission and that 100 is the maximum really for the room.

Yes, do tell! Did you get to taste the cake, too?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I wish they let us taste the cake! We have to purchase a small cake if we want a sampling of their work!!

I'd love to hear what you thought, Eileen. Great new picture, by the way. Can someone explain how to change the wording above the avatar from 'Board Enthusiast' to whatever we want? I think I posted enough to change it, si? Thanks!

no, you have to have 1,000 posts, then you will be able to change it in 'my account'

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Hey everyone. I'm not really posting under this name anymore but I wanted to let you guys know how the tasting went since so many of you asked. tp329, this may look familiar to you - I basically copied the FM I sent to you.

The tasting was really fun. We ate SO much! Let's see... We tried the scallops wrapped in bacon (AMAZING!), baby lamb chops, beef and chicken brochettes (which were really skewers - beef was excellent, chicken ok), shrimp in ale batter, and the baked clams for the hors douvers. Everything was really good.

Then for the appetizer, we tried all but the penne alla vodka and went with the crepe florentine - excellent!!!!

We tried four entrees - sole, salmon, shell steak and chicken florentine. The shell steak was excellent. The salmon was a little chewy IMO but we were the last tasting so some of it had been sitting out for a bit. The hollandaise sauce was really good on it. We did not like the sole at all. And the chicken florentine was good but we figured that people who order chicken at a wedding are pretty bland eaters so we decided to just go with the chicken francaise.

For the cake, we picked whipped cream instead of butter cream, and it'll be yellow cake with a filling of strawberries and bananas mixed in vanilla custard.

Our BM is Nadine and we just love her even more after our meeting!

Cottage Brides - What is the room minimum to guarantee?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Carriage House brides - I love the Milleridge, but I am so angry right now. I wouldn't bank on inviting the maximum it holds of 130 people. It would be way too crowded with that. I just found out that with a dj AND a 4 piece greek band I can only invite 100 people maximum. I am a bit upset that they are basically telling me a 4 piece band will take up the space of 30 people! I feel like we were lied to.
