Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Ugh, that's awful! I would be upset, too. I'm already forgetting what they say The Cottage holds (I saw the # 500 on their site, but they MUST mean the combo. of Cottage & Carriage house). The minimum at the Cottage is 150. We had close to 200 and it was comfy, but not everyone sits during CH, which was an issue for me, but ppl. mingle about. Everyone seemed to be in the bar area taking photos of us, as we made an appearance at CH, but the atrium had many ppl. in there, eating, as well.

I'm guessing they're being overly-cautious about #'s so that you have a comfortable experience, but that should have been discussed earlier by them. A 4-pc. band shouldn't take up the space of 30 more guests.

On the page they gave me, it seems like, in some situations, they accept a lower minimum as long as you pay an additional fee. I think it was something like Sat night they wanted 200 minimum, but would allow, say, 150, but you would have to pay an additional charge. I don't remember how much the charge is -- $500, $1,000, $5,000???

The other thing to find out is if the cottage is available when you want it.

One other pricey thought...you can invite how ever many people you want, you just have to PAY the guarantee.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

So regretting my choice of the Milleridge now...

In case other brides don't know this (since I surely didn't):
- If you don't use the Milleridge florist for your CPs, the florist will give your CP florist the roses they would have used for your CPs. It doesn't seem like the MR florist will do anything else with the roses themselves or do anything else for you to provide addtl decorations (floral or non-floral) for the room.
- 'seasonal colors' means choice of 6.

Anyone else have any 'If I knew then...' stories to make us all the wiser?

It doesn't 'seem' like it or they flat out told you no? I'd meet with the florist. We were told that if we opted not to go with the roses for the CPs we could use them elsewhere. Tourist, I'm almost positive, did this - FM her.

re: the flowers, I just met with the MR florist, and they are using my roses as part of my centerpieces. I spoke to Bob, and he seemed very helpful. I would ask him what you can do with these.

i did use the milleridge florist and they were absolutely wonderful... we did use the roses in our centerpieces, but also upgraded...so along with the roses we got hydrangea etc. bob & the rest of the staff there did an amazing job.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

My wedding is in mid-July, and I just met with the florists this weekend. I loved the suggestions Bob had, he was very helpful, and gave me a very reasonable initial package. I went back over it with him and upgraded some of the arrangements after seeing how reasonable their prices are.

But to answer your question, it's probably not too early to meet with the florist if your wedding is in September. Just give them a call, and see if it's a good time to meet now.

Hi! I did not want the bubble vases and instead, I will have candelabras with candles only. The petals of the roses from the bubble vases will be used on the tables. That's the only thing that the MF will be doing for me.

I never really inquired about using the bubble vase roses for other arrangements. Sorry that I can't help with that.

Oh! Bob was very helpful, he was very nice. He even stayed late one evening so that I could go visit them after work. H also set up the candelabras for me in the carriage house, so that I could see what the CP's will look like.

I hope this helps.

That's what I ended up doing. We used the roses in more elaborate centerpeices. ( I'm nota bubble vase fan either) And we used circus roses, which are sort of orange. I think If I alsed the banquet manager it wouldn't have been a choice, but sinc e I was using the florist, and was having those roses oin my bouquets too, they counted them in my CPs as the included roses.

Orginally, I was going to use a different florist & asked about the flowers and was told by both the Bm & the florist that they cold put them out at the CH or on the mantle or in the Cottage, by the stairs.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

i meet with milleridge florist about a month ago. we are using the dozen roses that comes with the package for our centerpiece, but we are adding another dozen and a lot of baby's breath and put them on a high stand. Don't remember who I spoke but they were very helpful. The prices were reasonable, but my B-K was expensive.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

well, all this talk about flowers makes me want to post my Cp picture. The sample is posted earlier on but the realy thing was so much better-- the picture doesn't do it jsutice. The mantle pieces were great too--the same things at the CP, but more linear.

I'm a Milleridge Inn bride. We may not have a large enough group for the cottage house or the carriage house (around 45-50 expected). So we will be using one of the rooms at the Inn.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Thanks for posting your picture!! One of the things that I love about the Milleridge is their table settings and linens (table cloths). I love the way their tables look! I'm so excited!!
