Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Hi everyone, thanks for adding me tot he Milleridge thread! This is great! I am working with Leslie there and so far so good. Is anyone using the half dozen roses as centerpieces? I wasn't sure if that was enough. I am going with the two star menu, it looks like plenty! So exciting, just got my dress!

Post pics!!

I'm going with the 2 star menu as well but we will have a dozen roses as the centerpieces. See if Leslie will throw that in for you.

Here is a pic. Nevermind my face, that was after working all day and trying on about 12 dresses!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

How do i ask her to do that for free? Just suggest it? She already gave me a deal on the menu. She gave me the price inbetween the winter and spring rates. We have to get married at the Greek church so i wasn't able to do it during lent and easter in April as we planned.

Which greek church are you getting married at? I have the same situation which is why I am getting married on 5/15/05 at st. paraskevi in huntington. As far as prices and extra stuff, I was so against asking for discounts and negotiating because I was so paranoid about getting the date I wanted. My fiancee took care of it though and was able to get the price down a good bit for the three star menu. I made a little bit of a stink about the flowers outside because when I went to see the cottage in April it had nothing outside..meanwhile the milleridge inn looked like holland with all the tulips!! Leslie said I wasn't the first to complain and decided to reduce the price after speaking to her boss and assuring me that it would be different next year. Lesson learned...never be afraid to bargain or open your mouth...these people are all making tons of profit from you. You can also use other places to prove your point..ie. the swan club and westbury manor are the ~ same price range and have beautiful grounds. Of course the milleridge is much more quaint and private but you can always make some case to get a discount. Thank god for my fiancee because he is great at doing that for all of or wedding planning so far. Good luck!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

We are getting married at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. I just recently broke the news to my non-Greek fiance that he will have to wear a wreath on his head during the ceremony. Didn't take the news too well, but he's ok with it. I will see what I can do with the flower situation at the Milleridge. You are right, never hurts to argue, they can only say no.

hi girls...
probably a stupid question...
my wedding is in 52 days (holy moses!)..i have been paying my deposits & what not...but i haven't really talked to anyone from the milleridge (besides bob the florist) since i booked the date almost a year ago... nadine is my BM. should they be getting in touch with me for anything, or should i call nadine just to touch base? I know we have to pick our menu & our cake pretty soon...
i know it's dumb but i was just unsure!

They told me they'd contact me to set up an apoitnment for about a month before. That's when you do the cake & menu picking.

I've been in touch with my conact a few times because I had quetions, but we haven't spoken recently.

So, dont' worry, they'll call you , or if you don't hear from them about the 1 month mark, call them.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I asked for the extra roses and she said no!!! Oh well...nobody realizes the centerpeices anyway. My guests will be focused on alcohol and food.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

We're using the Holiday Inn in Plainview. They gave us an incredible rate of $99 so I couldn't pass it up. It's really nice as far as Holiday Inns go. It's a hotel, not a motel, and there's a bar and restaurant. It's about 4 miles from Milleridge.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

DH and I stayed at the Inn at Fox Hollow. Our guests stayed at both the Inn at Fox Hollow and the Best Western. They're both on Jericho Tpke, about 4 miles from the Milleridge. We had bus service to and from the Milleridge.

Should I book my hotel now or do i have time for that?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Heather, one more question. Are you have an officiant and do you know the exact details of the ceremony at Holy Trinity? We want to say our vows, so I think we are going to have to hire someone.
