hi girls!
just wanted to let you know i am going for my tasting on sunday, and then going back monday to pick the final menu!!!! SO excited, it is really, really soon!

cool! Did they call you to set up the tasting & final menu planning or did you have to ask?

I'd like to have them separate like that so FIls can go to the tasting but we can do the finalizing alone. Altough 2 trips form Westchester ina row will be annoying, we can deal.

I'm going back to the Milleridge florist tomorrow to see the sample centerpieces!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

they called me to set up choosing the menu. mentioned nothing about a tasting...i called back & asked, they only do tastings on weekends, andyou get to pick 4 entrees you want to try. So, word of warning, call about 2 months before your wedding to set up a tasting, that way you are not like me, running there 2 days in a row.

Thank you SO much! That's exactly what I needed to know, I would have waited untill they called. Are you able to takae anyone with you. I need to include my FILs in something & they have never been to the Milleridge at all, so I thought this would be a good opportunity.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

you can take people with you, you just have to let them know how many ahead of time. it's just me, my FI and my mom coming...it's too short notice for my FIL's (they are OOT) and my dad has to work.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Hey all! I went to the Milleridge florist last night. Chris made me 2 beautiful centerpiecs, We got to take the one we are not using home. He need to take pics of the other for his refernce.
I took a few but the ones of the good centerpiece didn't come out so well. I don't have the cables here at work, I will try & upload over the weekend.

We go to see how they look on the tables, which really helped figure out the size.

He budgeted for 11 tables which I think is more than I will have, but it came to about $1600 ( with personals). I'm happy withthat price, it gives me a little room to add onto the church flowers (with another more expensive florist)

Kazee--how was your tasting? What did you try? I am going to call this week to set mine up!

Do you know what you are picking today?

Hi girls, I went to an engagement party on Saturday night at the carriage house. Food was excellent, grounds were beautiful, cocktail hour was outside underneath the tent. Waitstaff was attentive. Banquet manager was shadowing the future bride and groom ALL NIGHT long, great service!
Just wanted to let you know

Thanks for sharing! Do you know about how many people were there? Was it crowded under the tent?

Thanks!!! Everytime I read something else about the service I'm more and more sure of my decision to go with Milleridge!

There were probably about 100 people there ... we were under the tent and out of the tent (it was nice out) ... not crowded at all.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

hi girls! I had my tasting on sunday, and then went monday to meet with nadine to pick the final menu!!!!
the tasting was excellent, but totally not what i expected! We got there & they took us into one of the offices, and there were 3 place settings & glasses set around the desk! isn't that strange? no tablecloth or anything, just set up on an office desk!
well anyway, they first brought us in a tray of hor d'oeurves...baby lamb chops, scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken & steak brochettes, fried shrimp....OMG, so much food. everything was DELICIOUS, i was full after just that part.
then they brought 3 appetizers to try: fruit plate, asparagus & crepe florentine. again, everything was wonderful.
THEN they brought one plate of each of the 4 entrees we had pre-requested to try. so seriously, 4 whole dinner plates of food for just 3 people, after we had chowed down on a ton of apps! the food was wonderful, i was very happy with everything! nothing to worry about there!
we went yesterday (just me and FI) to choose the menu & go over details. nadine was delightful...so yeah, my wedding is a month from tomorrow. i have officially stopped sleeping!!!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Yay!!! Which entrees did you choose? Are you doing the 2 or 3 star menu?

kazee525 Posted:

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

we are doing the 2-star menu...
we chose the filet of sole (before the tasting we had been leaning towards salmon, but i LOVED the sole!), chicken cordon blue and shell steak. we are doing penne ala vodka for an appetizer, garden salad, and the ice cream for dessert.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

cool! thanks you so much for all the details.
I am also leaning towards the salmon, but maye I should try the sole. I was going to request for the tasting: the steak, the salmon, the Cornish game hame & the Chicken Kiev. I can't decide btwn the 2 chickens.

I'm glad you get to try the asparagus & crepe, those are the 2 appetizers I am trying chose between. I'm leaning towards the
crepe.

I am going to call this week, but I can't decide if I my parents should come or if 6 people is too many.

yay! Your wedding is soon! I'm so excited for you!

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

I just called to set up my tasting. FYI, Kristy said they usually do that at the meeting where you pick the menu 1 month before, but she said they can do it earlier if you want. I opted for that, so I could bring FILs with me.

She even changed the day from Sunday to Saturday, so we could go in the Carriage house & show FILs around. (on the Sunday there was another party)

She also said they have new table clothes ( as of May) I have saw them last week, but didn't realize they were new, but I did like them. I'll try & post pictures later today.

I had trouble again last night uploading to ofoto.

Great - thanks!

When did you schedule the tasting for?

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

My tasting is August 21.

Now I have to decide what to taste. . .

I'm going to attempt to post the pictures Itook of my centerpices & the table clothes. Keep in mind these are in the Carriage House, not sure what they use in the Cottage. And you have the choice of using the old ones if you were partial to them.

Re: Official Milleridge Thread!

Ok, here we go:

picture #1: This was actually the centerpeice we didn't pick, but its the better picture. Ours will be bigger & not have all that green hydrangea that looks like cabbage.

picture #2: same thing close up.

picture #3-bad picture, good centerpiece. You can see the proprtion to the table though- it is a little bigger thanthe last one.

picture #4- this is a close up of this same This is what we are going with, except it will have candles. I am considering changing the roses from circus to Leonides though. The BMs will have the same roses & berries & hydrangea witout the ivy & other little things.

Ok, here is the new table cloths. Honestly, I don't remember what the old one looked liked, but my mom & did really liked these & noticed how nice they went with the chairs. It wasn't untill today that I learned that they were new.

I think I am going with the burgundy napkins, as shown.
