Hey fellow November brides!

I have question on table seating.
Recently, FH and I were at his dads and they labled themselves at tables 1 - 4. I guess they did not realize that the bride's family usually sits at table one.. is this right? How does this work?

We have three sets of parents. My parents
His dad and his step mom and their children and family and his mom and his step dad and their children and family.

Help..this is confusing..

To alleviate the 'who gets table # 1' issue, we are going to put 'father of the brides table', 'mother of the brides table', 'parents of the groom table' and then number the tables from there out with regular numbers.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

since traditionally the brides family pays they get table #1 and each subsequent odd number, the grooms family gets table #2 and each subsequent even number
so usually all odd numbers on one side of the room with brides family and friends, and even numbers on the other side with groom's family and friends,
but remember your wedding your way, so do whatever is best for you

This is how they did the seating at my FH's sisters wedding last year. Our's will be different as the only immediate family I have is my father. I don't think it really matters but I think it's fair to do odd/even distribution so no one feels slighted. Do whatever you feel works best for your situation.

Haven't even thought of seating yet. No one better put their two cents in about that one.

My BM's dresses came in! I want to go see them now. I also just dropped off my invite list to my FSIL so she can start the calligraphy - I'll probably get the invites out in the nex tweek or two.

Had my 2nd hair trial last night and LOVED it. I loved my first one too with a half up half down style but I think I'm better off with an updo. It looked so elegant and now I don't have to worry about my hair blowing in my face when I take pics since I'll be on the beach. Oh, and my shoes came in.

This weekend I want to look for hair pins and FG dresses. What about everyone else?

This is what we are doing as well. My family will have all the odd numbers, and his family will have the even numbers. So my parents will be at Table #1 and his parents will be at Table #2, and then my brother and sister and some other very close cousins will be at Table #3, and his brothers and sisters will be at Table #4, etc.

WOW that is great, I am glad that your girls dresses came in, and I am very happy that you loved the updo!

I have my 1st trial this Friday and I am so excited!!!!! I hope I love it. I am doing half up/half down. Saturday I am working, but Sunday I am going shopping for my veil, tiara, and BP gifts. I am hoping to get a lot done this weekend.

As promised, here a picture of my dress ladies (I hope this works, I have never uploaded a picture on this site before and computers are definitely NOT my friend).

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

Silly question - what is everyone doing for placecards? Are you just doing what the hall gives you or ordering some and handwriting the names or making your own. It's such a small thing but it's all I've been thinking about today.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

I was thinking about this the other day. We are either going to use frames (if I can get them for around $1.00 each) or just use the ones that the hall is providing for us. I really do not want to spend a lot on this because it is an extra expense that I don't need.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

Did you girls get your veil yet, and if so where did you get it? I went on Friday to look for a veil and tiara, and it was so expensive. I was hoping to find something a little cheaper since I only plan on wearing the veil for the Church, not the reception. The tiara I don't mind spending a little more money on since I will be wearing that all day.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

Luckily I'm borrowing my veil from my FSIL but I've heard that Barrons in the Tri County flea market has good prices and selection.
