That's great!! The best deal I heard during peak season was $185 and that was two years ago.

I had a work event there last April. I had never heard of it until then. What a place!! WOW! just gorgeous! if you look into the history of who built and why, it's a very interesting (and quite a comical) story!

WOW - that is a GREAT DEAL! I got married in October, almost two years ago and lets just say we paid more than that! Congratulations.

Also, as a former Oheka bride, I just want to say something in response to an earlier post on this thread so that there is an alternative point of view from someone who has already gone through it and spent a lot - I don't regret my decision one bit - if I could go back again, I would do the same exact thing, in fact, I wouldn't hesitate so much about spending what I did. My wedding was one of the most perfect and beautiful days of my life and I will treasure it forever. It was more beautiful than I had ever dreamed. Do I own a house now, no - but for me, that is just fine. I'll save until I have the money to buy one

I just got married there and it was absolutely beautiful. I feel very blessed to have been able to have it there. The service, food, and ambience were incredible! My family is still getting calls from relatives & friends saying that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to (and best food they'd ever had at a wedding). You won't be disappointed. Re: the cost, I think it's a very personal decision. It was definitely more money than I had originally wanted to spend, but, looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.

Good luck!!

$124 a plate, for at least 123 people. thats the killer. Plus I honesty feel that is way way too much to spend on a wedding. I honestly don't know how anyone could afford that. Mind you this was later Nov. on a Tuesday. that was the offer. I told them no thank you

I saw OHEKA its is beauity but it is so so so expense. more than I would spend on one day. I'm sorry, even if I was a millionare, I wouldn't spend that kind of money.

I am sure if you were a millionaire you would do it.

Oheka was on a Wedding Story today. It was beautiful!

Fox Hollow was on the show last week, i guess they are doing a lot of LI weddings.

Despite the varying financial situations of brides, grooms, and their families, LI is one of the parts of the country with the highest income.

You also have to take into account the many wealthy city families who want a wedding on an estate that they can't find in the city. While many of us try to have weddings under $100 per head, there may be just as many families who wouldn't even flinch at paying close to if not over $300 per head.

We come from a city full of Trumps, Rockefellers, Hiltons etc who $300 a plate is chump change. To them it is not wasteful. If you grow up your entire life knowing one way of living, then it is by no means a waste or impractical. Obviously there is a calling for weddings and other functions at Oheka Castle otherwise they would shut down and go out of business.

I stayed there on my wedding night. Oheka is def. an amazing place!

Oheka is simply beautiful. I stayed there my wedding night and i loved it - even for the few hours that we were there.

I went to a wedding there 2 weeks ago and it was just so great. It is a lot of money but imo totally worth it. Weddings there are pure elegance - if DH and I were not starting out and had established ourselves a bit - i would have gotten married there in a second.

That is not expensive AT ALL. I am sorry, but that can't be right. I am getting married at Villa Lombardi's, I booked 3 years ago and I am paying 125 (that includes tax and grat.) for a min. of 120. This includes a vienesse hour, but still . . . That sounds too inexpensive for OHEKA which is AMAZING, but no way would we or my parents pay that for one day.

I just got back from Oheka a few minutes ago. (I was there to make a payment.) I asked about the $50 Membership, that was mentioned earlier on this post, to avoid the site fee, but they were unaware of any such thing. (THANK GOD!) My FH would have had a heart attack. But I DID find out that they were extending the Hotel part of the castle. They are also going to be opening a restaurant there that will be open to the public soon.
AND...the next Bridal Expo will be in September with IN STYLE magazine. Can't wait for THAT!!!
